I had a issue with the air condition unit. It was blowing warm air. I called the front desk and within minutes someone was in the room taking care of the issue. The problem with the air conditioning unit was fixed. The Hyatt is going through renovations but that didn't stop the staff from getting the issue resolve and making sure the remaining of… Read more

Sadly this was our second trip in 3 weeks. We spent 6 nights over spring break and had issues with next to no housekeeping. We were told by management we would receive 15000 pts. We received 7500 pts. I brought this up at checkin and was told it would be corrected within 24 hrs. That was Thursday, today so Sunday still no correction. I made an error and booked a king room and requested a queen upon checkin and was told some lame excuse of how it would cause issues with inventory- they were NO where near booked. Complete lie. But that was my error so what ever my issue is they were not honest with their reasoning. And the cherry on top. I will attach a photo from the bathroom. I have seen this photo about this hotel before and assumed it surely had been fixed. I can assure you it has NOT been fixed. I did not bring it to managements attention because they do not, as proven, correct their issues. I was considering booking Hyatt for an upcoming trip to Savannah, I will not Be doing that and I would Caution anyone from booking this hotel. Read less

We stayed five nights while visiting DC to see sites. The location is ideal, a short 2-block walk to Union Station where the Postal Museum is also located, and a 2-block walk in the opposite direction to reach the Capital building. Yes, renovations are going on and the first floor is a complete construction zone. We entered by walking down a handicap accessible ramp at the front of the bldg and the elevator was right there, we were able to go up to our room without seeing any construction. When we needed to go to the makeshift lobby, we got off the elevator and followed the signs, it was a very short walk and is clearly marked. We did not hear any noise, we were not bothered at all by the ongoing work. The bellmen outside at the front of the hotel were wonderful. When we arrived, one of them walked us in and showed us how to get to the front desk. Every time we left or returned, they greeted us, opened car doors, and helped with luggage. Exceptional service. We felt the same about the front desk and housekeeping staff, absolutely exceptional! Friendly, accommodating, attentive and going above and beyond every time we interacted. I took one star off my review simply because of the furnishings in our suite. The bed was comfy, the pillows were not, and the sofa was old and saggy, impossible to sit on. Surprised by how dated the table and sofa were, and that there were no drawers for storing our clothes, all of the cabinets contained shelves but no drawers and the closet was located in the living room and had shelving with little space for hanging clothes. These were things probably unique to this room and not deal breakers. The bathroom was great, very large and a very good shower. Prefer walk in but this tub version was okay, water pressure was good and drains worked well. The food and furniture at the restaurant were dismal. The chairs appear to have been taken out of storage, the backs and cushions are torn and worn, the wooden bases are coated in dust. Dirty and ugly. The food offerings are limited, it seems they are operating with a toaster oven, microwave, and sous vide machine. We had breakfast there but after one dinner we chose to eat elsewhere. Hopefully this will improve when they move into their renovated space. Overall, we had a good stay, the construction creates only minor inconveniences, and we will definitely stay again on our next visit. Read less

The hotel is currently going through renovation and it would have been nice to have someone notify me when booking the hotel, especially since I called the hotel and I opened a Hyatt credit card just for this stay. In addition, again I'm sure it will be better after the renovation, but the beds in the room were awful. It was like a sinkhole! It was uncomfortable and unfortunately both beds in the room were like that. I wished they did not assign that room to any guests. The valet service was rude, accusing me that I made him write a new ticket because I asked if the $60 fee was per night. He assumed we were checking in, but we had already checked in. At the "Starbucks" I had asked about one of the treats if it had coconut since my daughter is allergic to coconuts and they couldn't tell me. I looked at my Starbucks app to see what the ingredients were and they said it's not the same. Everything was very sketchy! And I know that I received an email regarding the renovation when it was time to travel, but it would have been nice if it was earlier than that so I could have opted for another hotel. But honestly, I think the renovation bothered me the least. It was everything else and so no, I would probably not recommend this hotel to anyone. In addition, we probably won't be back with the way we were treated. Read less

Terrible hotel. Totally unacceptable construction mess, pool is closed, housekeeping barged into the room at 8am when we were sleeping. Charges resort fees and destination fees when no amenities are available. Room is basic and tiny with a double bed. Horrible
