Great hotel with superior staff!!

This was a fabulous hotel - the staff were outstanding. location was excellent for Times Square and Broadway plays. The breakfast was a full buffet with great food choices. The subway was just down the street. The rooms were small but very clean and had a stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishes to use. Will definitely come back again!!

We chose this property as we were traveling with a third person and needed an affordable option with a second bed in addition to our queen, and Townplace has a Queen plus sofabed. As it turned out, our third party got sick and couldn't join us, so we had a little extra space. We arrived CRAZY early, 7AM, and there was no room for us yet, as expected. Hotel held our bags and offered us breakfast, which we gratefully took. Room was ready around 2PM when we returned from exploring the area. The rooms with a sofabed are in the rear of the building, separate elevator, seems like a different building at one time. There are 4 rooms on each floor in that area, so the elevator is almost a private one. Our room looked out onto an atrium of the hotel, so no street scenes, just other windows of other buildings, but it was fine. Bed was VERY comfortable, good sized fridge, a couple of oven burners, microwave, and dishwasher. Also plates and glasses and silverware. We used the fridge and some of the silverware. Bathroom was fine, decent pressure on shower and enough storage area. Room only has 3 drawers, 2 on one side of bed, 1 on other, and open closet with 2 shelves and about a dozen hangers. Would have been tough to put 3 people's stuff away. Staff was VERY friendly, always welcoming us back and wishing us a good day. Breakfast was fine, 3 hot items (eggs, meat, and a third item) plus lots of pastries, and cereals, etc. Decent OJ from a machine. No waffles. A couple afternoons they had excellent chocolate chip cookies at the reception desk. I mean EXCELLENT cookies. We had an A/C problem the last day/night of our visit, as it just wasn't working for us and at least one other room on our floor. They couldn't fix it but gave us a fan and a small $$ refund plus a decent number of Bonvoy points, I had a number in mind to ask for but they provided it without me having to make any suggestions, which was a pretty good service recovery. We did a theater Marathon, and the hotel couldn't have been better located for Broadway, and tons of restaurants in the area. Read less

This was an excellent location for our trip. We wanted to experience Broadway plays and good restaurants. All were just a block or two from the hotel. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and they offered us free water bottles on demand. The breakfast and WiFi were included, and we enjoyed the breakfast each morning. They changed the offerings somewhat each day, but there was always breakfast meats, some kind of cooked egg or omelet, waffles or pancakes, muffins, yogurt, juices, etc. Very satisfying. Our room was rather unusual. There was no chair, dresser, desk, or closet, but some shelving, a bench, and a small table were provided. A nice TV and a full-length mirror are mounted on the wall. (See photo.) The bed was quite comfortable. We had a kitchenette with microwave, mini-fridge, small cooktop, coffee maker, and toaster. Dishes and utensils are provided. One night we heated up some leftovers from a restaurant, but we had to go to the lobby to eat them since there were no tables or chairs in the room. The shower is worth mentioning. It was quite large and had both handheld spray and a rainfall spray, with strong pressure and good temperature control. The shower also had the only chair in the room. (See photo.)
