We have an intense dislike for Times Square but attend theater in NYC once or twice a year for over 40 yrs. If the primary purpose of driving to the City is theater (3-4 shows) then we stay in TS area-no need for transportation. This hotel is one I have stayed at several times. Main reason is a room that is not a closet, vanity/storage space, makeup mirror, in room safe, mini wall mounted light for reading, a mini frige & plenty of room to set up our travel coffee maker. We always have a quiet night's sleep & a comfortable bed. Roomy bathroom & shower. The staff is great. We take the time to acknowledge & chat with the valet who is there whenever we stay here. The hotel is undergoing some renovation so fortnately the "destination fee" was waived. The only issue, which is minor, is streaming services were malfunctioning. This is the fourth time we have stayed at a Marriott, not just in NY, & could not access streaming. Since we don't travel to watch tv, it is a minor annoyance but a discount should be given. Fortunately my partner is an atty. & has the ability to politely negotiate a discount. We will stay here again when on a theater binge in NY. Read less
