The Barclay first opened its doors in 1926 under the aegis of the Vanderbilt family, quickly achieving a reputation as a hotel of distinction and exclusivity. Bette Davis, Marlon Brando and other celebrities have enjoyed its brand of hospitality in the past, now it's your turn! The hotel manages to combine old-world glamour with modern 21st-century functionality. Guests can enjoy an elegant residential design and state-of-the-art room facilities. There is also a health club for you to take advantage of. The Gin Parlour, with its club-like setting, is a great place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink before heading to one of the many restaurants and nightspots in the local vicinity.

Sophia Diaz and the Front Desk team were so helpful. They were friendly, answered all my questions and made the check in and out process very smooth. The room and food were excellent. I highly recommend staying here. I look forward to visiting the hotel again.
Not a 5 star hotel

This is a 4-star hotel not a 5-star hotel. The lobby is cavernous and lacking in any character. The rooms are fine, but not particularly elegant or special. Standard rooms are also small, especially for the expensive price. No a la carte breakfast, only an average buffet.
EXCELLENT STAY AND GREAT STAFF!

Always our hotel of choice when in New York. It feels like 'home', the kind where everybody knows your name like 'Cheers' or 'Friends'. When they sort our the tv issues, it will be a perfect 10. (The last 3 years have been tv issues which we hear are possibly due to carrier problems. )
Welcoming and friendly service

At the bar the next day, Jose provided top notch service. As first impression goes, we felt very welcomed! The room also is larger than NY hotel standards so that was a nice surprise. I certainly enjoyed my stay. Read less

The management team of this hotel is very focussed on quality service. Truly one of my favorite hotels to stay at. Central location, excellent service, spacious rooms. A must stay for business and pleasure. The Club features is excellent for business meetings.
