The front desk was very polite and accommodating. Our doorman, Bert was so special. He offered an umbrella to keep us out of the rain. it rained 2 days we were there. We had the breakfast buffet one morning..kinda expensive..but food was excellent and service was great. Everything was great and I hope to stay there again. All-round amazing experience. The concierge team was excellent, helping us plan out our stay in NY. Breakfasts were amazing. Nick in the Stingers Bar was exceptional. We were so well looked after. Would highly recommend this hotel for its location too. So central. 5*+

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was marred by the unprofessional conduct of the front desk agent, Irene. From the moment we arrived, her attitude was curt, dismissive, and frankly, rude. Simple questions were met with eye rolls and sighs, and any attempt to clarify check-in procedures was treated like an inconvenience. What should have been a smooth and welcoming check-in turned into a frustrating and awkward interaction. Irene made no effort to be hospitable or helpful, and her tone set a negative tone for our entire stay. Hospitality starts at the front desk, and in this case, it was completely lacking especially for an Intercontinental. It’s disappointing that a property of this caliber would tolerate such behavior in a customer-facing role. Until management addresses this issue, I cannot recommend staying here. A front desk should represent warmth and professionalism—not hostility and indifference. Read less

I WENT TO FRONT DESK AND WAS TOLD THAT I CAN'T USE THE $20 REWARD TO PAY THE $18 . I DISPUTED THIS BECAUSE THE RULES STATE YOU CAN AND THAT THE PHONE APP SHOWED THE BALANCE WAS $0. SHE THEN GOT ON HER COMPUTER AND REMOVED THE DIFFERENCE . IRONIC THAT THE IHG APP DOES IT , HOWEVER THE HOTEL COMPUTER DOES NOT. DOUBLE CHECK AND DON'T CHECK OUT ON APP. GO TO FRONT DESK TO VERIFY TRUE BALANCE OWED. STAFF NEEDS TO BE EDUCATED ON RULES OF IHG REWARDS FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE. WE CAME TO RELAX FOR THE WEEKEND AND SEE LA BOHEMIA OPERA. Our second stay at this hotel. Staff, i.e., everyone, was terrific. Your concierge is the best. Front desk, bell men, greeters -- all friendly and helpful. Nice room, great shower, comfortable king bed. A very pleasant stay at a top notch hotel!
