Located in midtown east, we found the location to meet our needs by walking most of the time. The experience: Like most NYC hotels, it’s loud. You are going to get noise from the outside regardless of whether you are on a low floor or the highest floor. We tried to verify. What you will find is a place that is showing its age and wear. While functional and reasonably clean, you will see evidence of wear everywhere. That may include carpet, the window that has condensation in between the panes because it’s lost its integrity, or stains, knicks and scratches, or broken shower bottle holders. You will also have to be lucky to have quiet neighbours because walls are thin. Maybe you will be blessed with considerate neighbours or maybe you will get the loud little kids or teens, or the couple having sex at 2am. It’s that kind of place. Breakfast: Tried it once. It’s okay in a pinch but there are better alternatives outside of the hotel. Staff: I have no doubt they work hard and try, but they are a little edgy and it depends who you speak to. Room was quite ample in size for NYC. Mattress firm and comfortable for my bad back. Location is just off 8th Ave, a bustling street, I felt safe despite a few homeless in alcoves nearby. Front desk staff was excellent! So friendly, efficient, helpful, and professional. Conveniently located in mid-town with large, clean rooms with Duane Reade and Blank Street Coffee steps away. Only downside was the 2 extra pillow limit (so frustrating) and the mattresses in room 2002 desperately need replacing. Will definitely stay again!

Stewart was at the front desk, very accommodating and helpful during our entire stay. What an awesome lad, on our checking he helped us upgrade, he gave us coupons to multiple bars/restaurants in the area. Stewart also provided us with a list of shops and bars to visit around New York.
