Nothing is too much trouble. The rooftop is fun for the views if you’re from out of town. His impeccable work ethic was front and center. Erika, Front Desk, took great care of us daily even booking restaurants. Nyima was attentive to all of our housekeeping needs. Neemo was so special with a smile we will long remember. She greeted us in the morning as though we had known her for years. We completed our stay with a terrific conversation with the GM, Sherrin Thomas. What a delight! So knowledgeable, genuine and inviting. She is clearly an excellent Team Leader. I arrived early after a red-eye flight from the west coast. Trip was with my BFF who was attending a conference. We stayed 3 nights. I was exhausted when I arrived at the hotel. Gem at the front door helped me with my luggage. He was so welcoming and the nicest guy - to have him be the first person you meet upon arrival is a win for the hotel. At check-in, the room wasn't ready yet since it was around 8:30am. I had breakfast at the hotel cafe (C+C) and was served by the nicest barista, Nino, at the bar. He's awesome and super friendly. I went to Chelsea Market to stroll around but was too tired and went back to the hotel. Still, the room wasn't ready at 11:30am. I fell asleep on their couch lol. A really tall guy in a white shirt (in bell services or security?) saw me and gave me a bottled water - he's super nice too. Over the next several days, him, Gem, John Ross, and Nino, were the nicest ones who saw you off for the day or greeted you at the door. They made you feel safe and sound back at the hotel. The hotel's best assets. Finally got into the room after 2:30pm. Check-in was swift and John Ross came up accompanied me to my room with my suitcase. Service is impeccable here. I had one meal at the hotel restaurant, Le Coin. Since I dined solo, I sat at the bar, and the bartender was super nice. My meal took longer than normal to arrive, so he gave me a dessert on him - a delicious fruit tart made in-house. Only glitches in the stay were a broken hairdryer when we tried to use it and a fire alarm battery that needed changing (we heard a constant beep-beep that wouldn't stop). Not dealbreakers and easily, quickly fixed. Best things during the stay were the speedy deliveries of things we requested. We wanted an extra luggage rack in the room and another bar of soap, and they arrived within 5 min or less. Location of this hotel is perfect if you want to be in the Chelsea, Greenwich area. Great for going to the Highline, Chelsea Market, Soho, Greenwich Village. We found fabulous shops and restaurants like Soapology and Pastis in the neighborhood. However, a bit far away from toursity areas like Times Square, 5th Ave shopping, Met, etc. I'd stay here again for the wonderful service from those guys at Gansevoort, the neighborhood, and the safe environment.
