There’s more than a ‘nod to nature’ at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge – it’s eco-friendly to its very core, from your room’s organic bedding to the nature-inspired children’s activities, daily Lobby Farmstand, use of reclaimed barn wood, and local artisanal products at the picnic-style restaurant. Style doesn’t suffer for sustainability, with features like corrugated leather headboards, gritty blackened steel, crate-style slatted closets, and a pop-up beer garden all giving the hotel a cool and contemporary edge. And they haven’t sacrificed those urban hotel essentials either, so you get complimentary WiFi, the Bamford Haybarn Spa, and a free shuttle into Manhattan (in a Tesla electric vehicle naturally) – although you could just stroll over nearby Brooklyn Bridge instead. But it’s the social buzz and views that make this place special, with the best enjoyed while sipping handcrafted cocktails on the rooftop pool terrace.

1 Hotel BB is truly a 2-star (3 at best) experience for a 5-star price. We paid for their nicest/largest suite for my birthday - at check in they sent us a standard room and then tried to claim this is the room we booked. Finally they admitted their mistake but didn't move our room for hours. The service was nearly non-existent. Our room keys consistently did not work in the elevators, we probably had to go to the lobby at least 6 times to new ones. The executive suite was quite small for the price and didn't have any real privacy. Even requesting fresh towels was a multi-hour ordeal that ended with me wandering the hotel's back corridors until I found the laundry room and got the towels myself. We've stayed at multiple 1H properties and this experience has been consistent, but it's a brand-wide issue. They're all about marketing a glamorous luxury aesthetic (and selling wildly overpriced rooms) while largely ignoring actual quality. Read less

Kat Fantastic!

Kat was amazing from the moment we arrived; going out of her way to find a room away from any noise, to accommodate for my partner’s autism. The team at 1 Hotel (Lola, Omar and Secky also outstanding!) are exactly why this is our 5th visit!
A pleasant stay.

We paid four times what they charge at the Marriott and everyone agreed the amenities at the Marriott were far better than 1 Hotel. I guess you pay for the view. It’s a hassle asking for turndown service but you don’t get it anyway. No nightly bottles of water, no glassware, dark, never figured out lighting system, no restocking minibar, second sink is in toilet alcove which is so weird as it’s only semiprivate , couldn’t find telephone not on nightstand or desk, sinks have no stoppers, no table or chairs for room service, unconventional floor plan is inconvenient and challenging especially in the middle of the night, no paper or pencil in room. When you add up all the basic amenities you don’t get or have to go out of the way to ask, it is barely a 3 star hotel. Big mistake. Should have stayed at the Marriott and save $2000 Read less
