The hotel

Greeting guests since 1914, Chatham Bars Inn is a world-famous turn-of-the-century Cape Cod landmark. With public rooms returned to their original grandeur, it’s a fabulous place to enjoy a very comfortable stay, just minutes from the picture-perfect streets of Chatham itself. Overlooking a private stretch of golden beach, we highly recommend upgrading to take advantage of stunning ocean views – watching the waves come gently rolling in across the sand is nothing short of bliss! Also highly recommended is a trip to the spa – very Zen-like in atmosphere, it’s an oasis of peace and calm, complete with an outdoor relaxation pool and Vichy Shower Room. Choose from treatments such as Summer at the Shore and Citrus Sunset, guaranteed to chase your cares away. Whilst adults are at play, children will be having fun too at their very own kids' clubs. Beach Buddies is for younger children and The Clam Diggers is for those slightly older. Both offer an exciting array of activities including swimming lessons, tennis, sailing and themed parties. There’s plenty to do in the immediate area but not to be missed is a trip to Outer Beach, conveniently reached by complimentary shuttle and hailed as one of the most beautiful barrier beaches in the world! There are also lobstering cruises to join or hire a bike and cycle (rentals available nearby) the Cape Cod Rail Trail – 35 miles long, it winds its way through some very charming towns and villages.

Overlooking Pleasant Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, just a short stroll from Chatham. Transfer time from Boston Logan International Airport: 1 hour 30 minutes.

My favorite hotel to visit on the cape. Hard not to come back with the excellent service and reliability each time. Don't be fooled by other similarly priced places that don't meet the same expectations. This place is the real deal. Look forward to coming back again

I'm glad you asked. Here goes: The place is breathtaking, congrats on that. The rooms are comfortable. The drivers around town were awesome The pool area and restaurant is well run and nice. Now: Concierge: I called 6+ times before arrival to talk to someone about getting a few things set up - golf, ferry, etc. - no one ever answered that phone… Read more
I'm glad you asked. Here goes: The place is breathtaking, congrats on that. The rooms are comfortable. The drivers around town were awesome The pool area and restaurant is well run and nice. Now: Concierge: I called 6+ times before arrival to talk to someone about getting a few things set up - golf, ferry, etc. - no one ever answered that phone an no one called me back When we checked into our room (Ocean view) - I noticed that our room sat well back of the bluff and had a gazebo in the way of the view. Several other units were literally on the edge with chairs, etc. right out the back door. I was told that I couldn't change because you were sold out all week (I checked in on Saturday - on Monday almost ALL of the others rooms were empty). I also asked for you to put in my Preffered hotels number (it was not put in) Next we set off for the the South Lounge bar (8 in our party - 4 rooms). As we tried to find a place to sit we asked if we could put 2 tables together - the waitress said she would check. The manager then cam over and said no - we should tray somewhere else on the property (don't hear that all the time at 5 star places) Then next day we enjoyed the spa and a local golf course that we found on our own. We then gathered in mid afternoon at the Bayview Terrace - a beautiful Sunday afternoon happy hour was the plan. Good news, because the service was so slow we didn't really drink too much (several times we went to the sacred cod to grab a round). The bar outside was so deep that at one point there were 20 people standing single file in a line to get a drink (haven't seen that anywhere honestly). Over the next 3 days we would stop Bayview (no servers after Sunday they said) or South Lounge and wait for 20 minutes or so for a cocktail. Upon checkout I asked again was I in the Preferred system for rewards and they said yes (not true - I will manually load it) Read less

The service at this hotel is top notch. The rooms are a little small but it is an old inn so that is not surprising. Highlights included breakfast and lunch on the Veranda, pool area, Beach House Grill and bar. i think that it is the best hotel on the Cape.

We had a wonderful time at the Chatham’s Bar Inn. We stayed in one of the cottages across the street from the main hotel. The cottage was so inviting and the beds were so comfortable. We had a great view and enjoyed looking out over the water. We enjoyed some dinner at the restaurant and also breakfast the next morning. The food was absolutely delicious and the wait staff was so friendly. We never felt rushed. Even though it was January, we decided to take a dip in the hot tub. A complementary mimosa was enjoyed as we relaxed after a day of shopping. There were also so many common areas to sit and relax after a long day. We sat in front of the fireplace and enjoyed recapping our day. I cannot say enough about how great the staff was. The valet members were fantastic and friendly and offered a bottle of water prior to our departure. The front desk was helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again. Read less

Attended a family occasion. This hotel is incredible. Very relaxing, very welcoming. Our accommodation was beautiful & the food was wonderful. Choice at breakfast was amazing. 5 minute walk to beautiful Chatham town and 3 minutes to the beach. Highly recommend Chatham Bars Inn for a luxurious treat! Go spoil yourself!!
