Incredible. Views, swimming pools, adult only pools, natural clear saltwater lagoon approximately 5 acres where you can snorkel seeing many kinds of ocean life, swim alongside sea turtles, bask in the sun, umbrellas, loungers and beach chairs included. Very reasonable self propelled diverse choice of water vehicle rentals. Swim with dolphins. Dolphins show in the lagoon. Immaculate grounds with a wide array of decor. The restaurants are incredibly expensive but in the property you can take a courtesy shuttle to either of two outdoor malls with nice reasonably priced restaurants, stores and groceries. I can’t describe it all. With or without the kids JUST GO THERE! Read less

We waited 2 days for the restaurant to open as it’s closed Sunday and Monday and then to be told when dining their fridges broke so very limited menu ( no breads and only 1 desert option ). Prices throughout the hotel are extortion and they provide a shuttle to the local shops to find they also charge for this as well. They have advertised they have a boat running through the hotel but found out due to costs this hasn’t ran for 12 months. It did run for 1 day during our stay only because 1 of the trams needed repairs. The buffet breakfast didn’t get replenished so hardly any food left when we got there. Read less

Every time I have been all of the staff have been fantastic and very friendly and helpful. As a Diamond member I have always received some type of upgrade and they consistently recognize your status. Huge plus, I am so happy they finally brought back live music to the Kona Tap room. That was a huge thing missing previously and has completely transformed the atmosphere. It was great to see a full house of people having a great time. Irene as always was fantastic and personable. I always enjoy that she remembers. Vlad was also fantastic as a bar tender and always has some great recommendations in his back pocket as a local. The menu looked a little thin from my previous visits and if they could beef that up a little bit it would be great. Read less

We recently stayed at Hilton Waikoloa Village for six nights with our 20-month-old, and while there were some definite highlights, there were also a number of drawbacks we feel future guests—especially families—should know about. Pros: We were very pleased to be upgraded to a two-bedroom villa, which was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer, and the beautiful mountain view from the 7th floor were standouts. The unobstructed scenery was peaceful, and the space was perfect for our small family. Cons: That said, the property layout is extremely inconvenient. It took 15 minutes to walk from the lobby to our room, and the tram, which runs only every 20 minutes, wasn’t worth waiting for—especially with a toddler in tow. The resort is not very stroller-friendly due to numerous stairs and bridges over the lagoons and rivers, making simple pool or beach outings more complicated than they should be. The design and decor are a bit all over the place—a mash-up of vintage Vegas casino, Polynesian themes, an Italian restaurant, and even a random elk statue by the pool. It felt like the property couldn’t decide what story it wanted to tell. We stayed as part of a timeshare offer, and while we understood the 90-minute pitch was part of the deal, it actually took two hours. The reps were polite but very persistent, presenting offer after offer even after multiple declines. If you’re doing one of these, book it for the earliest time slot possible so it doesn’t eat up your day. The pool bar hours were strangely limited—only open from 11 AM to 4 PM, which felt like a missed opportunity to enhance the guest experience. Also worth noting: while the dolphins seemed to delight many guests, we found the enclosed dolphin area a bit sad and small. It could really benefit from more space for the animals. Lastly, leaving the property felt like a mission—getting from our room to the car and navigating the resort’s size made simple outings more of a hassle than they should be. Final Thoughts: The villa itself was exceptional, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. But the overall property experience fell short of expectations, especially for families. It’s a beautiful location with a lot of potential, but we’d probably explore other options next time Read less
