Excellent place to stay—highly recommended! We thought this apartment was great and would absolutely stay again. It's cozy but plenty big for four people, extremely quiet, and very clean. Everything you need for a comfortable stay of several days is provided. Location can't be beat The apartment is just steps from everything—San Marco Plaza, restaurants, and shops. You really can’t ask for a better location. Some people have commented on the lack of a sitting area, but unless you plan to entertain, it’s not necessary. Being so close to all the sights more than makes up for it. Well-stocked with thoughtful touches There were many nice extras provided: coffee pods, shampoo, conditioner, makeup remover pads, a manicure kit, and a sewing kit. The small refrigerator includes a freezer and even an ice cube maker. Beds are comfortable, and there is a washer (note: no dryer, but a drying rack is provided, which is typical in Italy). Comfort and climate considerations The apartment has air conditioners in both bedrooms and window screens for when it’s cool enough to open the windows. There are also shutters that help keep the rooms cool. Note that Italy's AC systems aren’t built for extreme heat, and you’re asked to keep the temperature at 24°C—which is still perfectly comfortable for sleeping. Useful details to know There are stairs to reach the first floor, as is common in Venice—you enter at street level and walk up. The apartment uses a physical key for entry and electricity (insert the key to activate power). A keypad is used for the main door. Arrival and local assistance Veronica recommended a limousine service from Trieste (where our cruise ended) to the apartment. It was more reasonably priced than what I found online and included the boat transfer to the dock nearest the apartment. Carla met us at the dock and walked us to the apartment, which is especially helpful since Venice can be a labyrinth. A note on Venice in general Be prepared—little is cheap in Venice. Since everything is brought in, even food is expensive. That said, the experience is absolutely worth it. Final thoughts I’m including these details so others know what to expect. If you read carefully, you’ll be able to decide if this apartment suits your vacation style. For us, it was a fantastic choice. Read less

We recently stayed at the Gaylord Hotel. While the overall environment is beautiful and the rooms were clean, the service unfortunately didn’t meet the expectations for a hotel in this price range and category. Check-in started well — a lovely lady at the front desk welcomed us and promised a room with a nice view. However, we were given a room facing the back with garbage bins. It wasn’t a big issue for us as we were only there to sleep, and she was kind enough to give us helpful tips about the city. The second day, breakfast was a challenge. The dining area was too small for such a large hotel, and we had to wait 20–25 minutes for a table — something that really should be managed better. Later, I needed to use a dryer for my husband’s pants (which I had already washed myself), but was told it’s not available unless we used the full laundry service. I agreed, but they informed me it would take two days, which wasn’t an option since we were checking out the next day. On the day we left, we couldn’t find our car in the parking lot. It turned out I had accidentally parked in the valet area and only remembered the spot number (starting with 400). Unfortunately, no one could assist us, and we spent nearly an hour looking for the car, eventually missing our flight. We decided to return and give the hotel one more try, but were charged $571 for the night — no flexibility was offered, as we were told it was high season. Bottom line: If you're planning to stay at the Gaylord Hotel, be prepared for long waiting times — even for simple things like breakfast or room service. It’s a lovely place, but the service needs improvement to match the hotel's high prices and reputation. Read less

I understand that this is the largest Gaylord in the Country. It is very big. It took us a couple of days before we felt that we knew our way around. There is so much to see and do. There are quite a few places to eat. Some very expensive, some not too bad. You can take a boat ride, watch a light show, or just wander through the immaculately kept… Read more

The parking fees are a scam. My room was charged for parking as well as a separate credit card when I exited the lot. Called multiple times to get corrected and received no help. The parking is expensive enough without them double charging and scamming.

This review is based on my experience at a conference at this hotel - so perhaps not indicative of an average traveller or family stay I found check in to be quick and efficient. I got upgraded to a canal view (with a balcony) in the garden wing - I used elevator C3 religiously as once i had my route figured out I was not deviating as this place is huge and kinda all looked the same to me I didn’t go to any of the restaurants as my conference had everything catered - three meals a day. In short I found the food quality to be really good! A memorable dish at dinner was a brisket or roast with BBQ sauce. Desserts were super tasty! The closest I came to visiting any on site facilities would be a couple drinks at the end of the night at the sports bar. The room itself was fine, nothing really of note although I did find the bed very comfortable All team members I encountered were friendly and helpful. Read less
