Instead, we were assigned a room at the front desk without being asked about our preferences. To our surprise, we found out it had two twin beds, which is far from ideal for a couple. We immediately returned to the front desk to request any available room with a king bed. The staff refused to make the change. We even offered to wait for a king room to become available, but were told that “once you’re checked in, you’re checked in,” We can't help but wonder if this rigid treatment was due to the discounted event rate we booked under. Regardless, We expected better from a Sheraton. Read less

Sheraton Hotel Memphis Downtown. My recent stay at the Sheraton was marred by a truly unfortunate experience involving the front desk manager African American young girl, if I’m not mistaken, her name begin with a J, it was about 9:30 pm. The manager was "Extremely RUDE”. Instead of a polite and helpful response, she was incredibly dismissive and rude. The manager was not interested in understanding the situation and communicated in a condescending and abrupt manner. "She abruptly interrupted me when I was explaining my request," This level of disrespect from a manager was shocking and deeply disappointing. It significantly impacted the overall experience at the hotel, leaving me feeling undervalued and upset. It is unfortunate, the room cleanliness was good. The following morning, Fredrick and Shawn were awesome. They were very professional and helpful. Read less

Horrible front desk lady. Greeted with absolutely no kindness and had to wait ages to be able to check in due to a “nightly audit.” Literally over an hour and a half. They offered no solutions or even apologies. Will never stay at a Sheraton again.

Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel is a real pit! The internet is trash. I have to use my phone as a hotspot to receive a signal and it's a slow one at that! Not to mention there isn't a good phone signal either!! 19mbs today is a paltry speed. Should be 100 minimum. The chair backs in the bar are dirty from hands moving them in and out. Not to mention there isn't a good phone signal either!! 19mbs today is a paltry speed. Should be 100 minimum. The chair backs in the bar are dirty from hands moving them in and out. There's paint peeling over the window in our room - probably got wet at some point? Two of the four main elevators are out of service. There are more elevators down the hall a piece. The rooms are livable. Clean, tidy but not as clean as my wife's standards. Two 'Full' size beds (I like queen). Bed skirt has black spots from someone's luggage bumping against it. The room next to us is vacant as is the one across from us. Both have door peep holes with no lens' in them, just an empty hole! We had maintenance replace the battery in the smoke alarm next door as it kept 'beeping' every minute. It's not like other Marriots we've stayed in. It's a worn out hotel. Pool was closed. Exercise room looked modern. Free laundry! Elevators are slow. We like to take the stairs, but sign says Emergency Exit Only - door locks behind you. They say the downtown area is good, but don't venture too far out from there at night. Read less

I enjoyed the hotel and bar experience. the restaurant wasn't the best but satisfying. It was walking distance to Beille Street and a throw stone from the convention center. Major kudos to Ms. Ashley at the bar...she made theeeee best LI-Ice teas outside of NYC. Also, it would have been nice to have live music at the hotel. It's Memphis… Read more
