Atlanta, Georgia

Star rating

The hotel

A statement hotel, this glass column stretches far above neighbouring high rises to give unrivalled views over Atlanta through its floor-to-ceiling windows. To top it all off, literally, it’s capped with The Sun Dial, a three-tiered venue featuring a revolving restaurant, rotating cocktail lounge, and observatory floor with 360-degree views, all reached by an external glass elevator that scales the glazed cylinder in just 85 seconds. Far below, on the 11th floor, the indoor pool’s just as spectacular, with its curved glass roof folding away to let in the sun on hot Atlanta days.

This hotel is setup for conferences and busy as such. With that, the rooms were very disappointing and desperately need updating. Rooms were tired, dank, dark, and frankly dirty. Bathroom was not up to par and felt grossed out. No hot shower, luke warm at best. Air conditioner did not work well. Carpets were grimey and rooms overall very musty smell and air. I was pretty skeeved out in the room. Positives for this hotel: The hotel staff was beyond warm, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The staff were exceptional. Lobby has great amenities and space. Food was good at the restaurant. This hotel has much potential and in good location, but would not stay here again until rooms are updated. Read less

Clean but very dated. Furniture in room old and ripped. Customer service is hit or miss. Shenita at (in room dining) had a huge attitude when I was ordering room service. I got so put off and completely cancelled my order. Bottom line- I probably won’t be staying here again. Please train your staff better, or hire more staff if they’re overwhelmed… Read more

I enjoyed my recent five-night stay in April 2025 at the Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta Hotel. Foremost, I thank the friendly man at the front desk who checked me in and showed such great initiative in upgrading my room, something that doesn't happen to me very often. This beautiful, tall, cylindrical shaped hotel, an Atlanta icon designed by architect John Portman, captured my imagination. I had a beautiful room with a spectacular view over Atlanta, good air conditioning, comfortable bed, attentive, efficient daily housekeeping service, and a nice TV with a wide selection of channels, including YouTube access, which I really appreciated. I worked out in the fitness center, took a dip in the beautiful, big pool every day of my stay, and luxuriated on the pool deck lounge chair, went to the spectacular Sundial rotating bar on top of the hotel and had a cranberry juice, ate good food at the Bar 210, and enjoyed the delicious breakfast at "The Cafe" restaurant where the friendly hostess there made me feel so welcome every morning. The top-end restaurant on the 72nd floor, which looked great, tempted me but in the end I did not go because the price point discouraged me. I came to Atlanta to check out the sites and play tourist. I had never been here before. With its proximity to many of Atlanta's top sites, including World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium, and easy walking distance to the MARTA train, which goes to the airport, the hotel's ideal location suited me well. I had an excellent stay! Read less

Checking into The Westin Peachtree Plaza was refreshingly efficient — the front desk staff were courteous, quick, and made sure to walk me through all the essentials. As one of Atlanta’s landmark hotels and a popular conference venue, the lobby is grand, often bustling with activity, yet never overwhelming. A welcome sight for early risers and late-night wanderers alike: a Starbucks conveniently tucked into the lobby. The hotel’s vertical design is serviced by a fleet of elevators — with a clever split between lower and upper floors — ensuring that even during peak times, wait times are manageable. While the overall décor leans toward the classic side and shows some signs of age, the property is exceptionally well maintained and spotlessly clean. My room was spacious, outfitted with a generous work desk, and, to my delight, a complimentary bottle of champagne awaited me — a thoughtful nod to my birthday that made the stay feel more personal and festive. True to Westin’s reputation, the bed was genuinely heavenly, promising — and delivering — restorative sleep. The bathroom, however, was a touch more compact than I would prefer, though it came stocked with all the standard amenities expected of a property in this category. Room service, though advertised with a potential 45-minute wait, consistently arrived well ahead of schedule, a small but appreciated convenience during a packed itinerary. In sum, The Westin Peachtree Plaza offered a seamless, comfortable experience that paired perfectly with the demands of a busy trip — elevated by a few memorable, personal touches. Read less

Although the hotel is located near Centennial Olympic Park, the aquarium, and the Coca-Cola museum, the area is very unpleasant. While walking around looking for a place to have dinner, I saw many homeless and there was a strong smell of marijuana. Right across the street, there’s a Hooters, and I was very surprised to see an armed police officer with a machine gun inside the restaurant. That doesn’t speak well of the safety in the area. The hotel is very old, and the hallways were dirty. The room wasn’t too bad, but it definitely needs renovation. I wouldn’t return and I don’t recommend it at all. Read less
