I can't say how this hotel is but they have the worst customer service and policies I've ever experienced. Our airline cancelled our flight and rebooked us for a couple weeks prior to our reservation, and they would not work with us at all in changing the dates! While not as tall as the surrounding skyscrapers and an older appearing building from the outside, the hotel is still beautiful in the interior. Has a perfect view of Chicago river and sits right up against the river. There’s easy access to the river walk as well as to all of the main Chicago attractions like millennium Park, the amphitheater, the bronze bull, and cloud gate, also known as the Chicago Bean. It is also very close to two of the most famous deep dish, pizza spots Giordarno’s and Lou Malnati‘s. It is also very close to and walking distance from the famous river walk Apple Store, Chicago tribune building, and miracle mile. There is a Starbucks reserve right down the street. In the Riverwalk, there are multiple restaurants and bars and you are able to book many different types of boat tours that give you a tour of the bay or the architecture. If you have never been to Chicago, it is a great place to stay as it is close to all of the main Chicago attractions. Would highly recommend this hotel. The only reason this hotel got a four star review is that when compared to higher end hotels such as the Ritz Carlton or Saint Regis, it does not compare with their level of luxury or top-tier service and amenities. I recently stayed at this hotel and on the last day of my stay woke up itching my legs and ankles and had at least 20 bites that resembled bedbug bites. I found no signs of bedbugs in the room but alerted the staff at checkout and was told I would be contacted. When no one contacted me I reached out to Allegra Buehler, the guest services manager who told me they would look into it. Several days later I contacted them and they said no live bedbug activity was noticed. Well, here is a picture of one of my shins absolutely eaten up with bites. I checked out at 5:00 AM and went to the parking garage. My truck didn’t start but Chef Rico (i think, he was the sous Chef at the hotel) stopped to help me. He wouldn’t take any money for helping me and I know he was going to be close to being late for stopping to help me. Above and Beyond service from a hotel employee.
