Pluses and minuses

The rooms are spacious with tall ceilings. Surprisingly good Internet. The location is close to a lot of shopping and restaurants. But that comes with some cautions. Being old, the windows are single pane so the outside noise is quite loud. It’s pricey for room sizes. Getting Netflix or Prime on the TV is a joke. Try getting ice. It’s available but they want you to use the bellman. Space in their room fridge? Completely filled with purchase items. So it’s 3 stars at best for us. Read less

The Fairmont San Francisco is absolutely stunning. The architecture is both unique and timeless, creating a truly classic and elegant atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional Valet was friendly and accommodating, setting the tone for a wonderful stay. Christian at the front desk went out of his way to ensure our comfort by upgrading our room to a double queen, as our original reservation was for just one queen bed and we were a party of three. I also want to extend a special thank you to Jesse Caetano, Director of Food & Beverage, who personally reached out to check in and offer assistance during our stay. I was visiting family in San Bruno and celebrating my birthday, and to my surprise, I was welcomed with a thoughtful birthday amenity of assorted pastries in the room they were absolutely delicious. Thank you, Fairmont San Francisco, for making my stay truly unforgettable. Your staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and special. I can’t wait to return. Read less
Old San Francisco charme

The hotel is stunning! The entryway is gorgeous and nicely remodeled and rooms are comfortable at a reasonable price. Sleep quality is okay (the bed sucks and the AC sounds like an airplane), but the view of Alcatraz is stunning. Yes, the minibar is overpriced, but there is a convenience store 3 mins away by foot. Go get your snacks over there.… قراءة المزيد

Sleep quality is okay (the bed sucks and the AC sounds like an airplane), but the view of Alcatraz is stunning. Yes, the minibar is overpriced, but there is a convenience store 3 mins away by foot. Go get your snacks over there. Would I stay again? My main gripe with the hotel is that it is on top of a hill. As such, walking to the hotel is pretty much impossible. Either you take the cable car or an uber. Otherwise, yes, I think I found a quaint place in the city. Read less
Exorbitantly over charged for mini bar
مايو 19, 2025Sightseer48029106244
We had a bad experience as a couple . We stayed for one night, and used only 2 items from the minibar amounting to USD 26٫07, Whereas the hotel overcharged us with USD 157٫52 . They emailed us a bill listing items not used by us. I think the house keeping staff mischievously used the remaining items in the mini bar and wrongly reported it for… Read more

They emailed us a bill listing items not used by us. I think the house keeping staff mischievously used the remaining items in the mini bar and wrongly reported it for final billing. Infact, we have been cheated by the hotel . A hotel of such ambience and excellent reputation proved that it cheats its customers once they check out. Read less

We stayed at the Fairmont San Francisco Hotel for one night on مايو 11, 2025. While the hotel's historic charm and location were impressive, we were left disappointed due to a serious billing issue. We consumed only 2 items from the mini bar - Trumer Beer ( USD 9٫78) and Bulleit Bourbon( USD 16٫29) -totaling USD 26٫07. However, we were charged USD 157٫52, with the bill later emailed , including several items we never used. We raised the issue with the hotel, as the bill clearly included incorrect charges. We suspect that the cleaning staff have mistakenly reported the mini bar consumption, which unfortunately wasn't properly verified before billing us. For a hotel of this reputation, we expected better attention to detail and customer service when it comes to resolving billing discrepancies. We hope Fairmont reviews their mini bar reporting and billing practices to prevent similar issues for future guests. Read less
