Escape to the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach — this retreat sits next to the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve and is ideal for a bit of walking, cycling or nature viewing. You'll be welcomed by 26-acres of lush landscaping, before the newly renovated lobby and bar area lure you in with a calm, coastal California chic theme. Directly off the Newporter Lounge, is a comfortable patio with a firewall, hanging lights and magnificent views of the bay — and those views carry through to many of the guest rooms. Take your pick from three beautiful outdoor pools: chill at the adults-only 'Indulge' pool and find a restful spot at the 'Serenity' pool, or have fun with the kids at the 'Oasis' pool. Whether your passion is shopping, dining, boating, or performing arts, you’ll find it close by. Hit the beach, take to the water on Newport Bay, or wander the shops at Balboa Island and Fashion Island. Disneyland, the Aquarium of the Pacific and Laguna Beach are just a little further away.

Love this yearly stay at the Hyatt Newport Beach! Rooms are extremely clean. Staff is amazing at the desk, in reservations and back offices, in the restaurants, in the bar, valets and in housekeeping. I appreciate all that the staff does over and above!

Buyer be aware. I booked 2 Bay rooms almost 2 months prior to my arrival only to learn that the area of the building was called Bay ...but there was no bay or view of a bay. Not a good way to start a business trip. This is definitely as misleading as misleading can be. Our room was located at the very end of a horse shoe shaped complex with a very large pool area and water slides in the center …and yes, with the loud music playing and the yelling and screaming that goes on when kids are having fun. Perhaps they should consider calling it Kids Cove. Not a good setting for conducting business. I informed the front desk to please change our rooms since this is a very large hotel with many other areas not located in front of the kid’s pool but they informed me that I had booked a Bay Room (This is when I learned it was the name of the hotel area) and that they had no more rooms available ...very strange to believe considering is a large hotel, considering I’m a Hyatt Member since 2010 and had even booked our stay using my Amex Platinum Card. On top of these, I was charged $40 dollars a night for overnight parking, plus an additional $40٫00 Hotel resort fee (This must be for the free loud Music Experience), plus a Visitors tax, a Newport Beach tax, and Tourism Assessment fee. So be prepared to pay an additional third of the cost of the advertise room rate for all of these other taxes and fees. If you are not from California and are not aware of how heavily they tax you there …you will feel ripped off by the time you leave. I do not write reviews but felt compelled to write about this experience. Quite different than the experience I just had at the Hyatt in Milan where I had just come from the week prior. Read less

I made a BIG mistake... by only booking one night! I should have stayed the whole weekend. This hotel is absolutely beautiful – everything from the food to the atmosphere made our stay unforgettable. The breakfast buffet was incredible. My family especially loved it, and the omelet chef made the best omelet I’ve ever tasted. The steak and eggs were perfectly cooked – the chef really knows what they’re doing! We were celebrating my birthday, and the hotel surprised me with a cake and a handwritten card. The cake was light, delicious, and honestly one of the best I’ve had. The pool and spa were very relaxing, and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming. My dog also had a great time – this place is super dog-friendly and perfect for walks. Plus, they even had a car charger for my Tesla! We felt so spoiled and taken care of – truly a luxury experience. Next time, we’re definitely staying longer. Highly recommend! Read less
