As sleek and understated as it appears from its spot on LA’s legendary Sunset Boulevard, the Andaz West Hollywood is actually a prime slab of Rock ‘n’ Roll history that dates back to 1963. Over the years the likes of The Who’s Keith Moon and The Stones’ Keith Richards have sent TVs flying off the (now enclosed) balconies, while Led Zep drummer John Bonham reportedly rode a motorbike up and down the corridors. Thoroughly renovated for the 21st century the Andaz relishes its history, but these days the musical motifs complement the minimally chic décor in boutique-style rooms rather than run rampant. Indeed, there’s a friendly, unpretentious welcome here that extends from the hotel’s enticing eateries to its breathtaking rooftop pool (where, incidentally, Spinal Tap’s end of tour party was filmed). Rock. And. Roll.

Love this hotel and my favorite place to stay in LA when visiting family in LA. The staff is excellent and the pool is great. the rooms are also really nice. I recommend this hotel! Only issue is the very expensive parking rates so better to use a ride share.

Homecoming

I've reviewed the Andaz several times but every time there's always something to comment about. There have been some top level personnel changes since my last visit, and the new team has picked up the baton and run with it. Our experience was as always...like coming home. The staff treats everyone, not just repeat guests like me and my family,… Read more

The beds and pillows are A+, the breakfast package is well worth it and they were super accommodating with early check-in / late check-out. The whole property is cool, and the Riot House restaurant is awesome. They include ear-plugs and are very accommodating for those of us who were there to 'let loose' but in a 'I have a corporate job' sort of way. 24hr coffee in the lobby. Highly recommend. Read less

My partner and I stayed here for a week early May. Overall it is a really nice hotel. Booking.com upgraded us to a double queen with ‘Hollywood hill views’ and breakfast. Unfortunately this didn’t get communicated properly with the hotel who stated breakfast wasn’t included. I questioned this with reception and fortunately they honoured the breakfast for us which I was appreciative of. The room was on the 4th floor. I am not sure if this is the room type I was supposed to have as the view was mainly the car park and a slight view of some of the hills. I was a little disappointed by this and would have preferred a higher room hence why I didn’t give 5 star rating. The breakfast was amazing each morning and free coffee machine was a really nice touch. The rooftop pool was amazing with a really good vibe. The room was more than adequate, spacious with comfortable bed. Although could do with a little decor updating. A special shout out to Jesse on reception who checked us in and out and was an ambassador for the hotel, friendly helpful and a really great guy! Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend Read less
