I stayed one night at this hotel to be close to the Hollywood Bowl for a show. It's nicely situated, right off Sunset Boulevard, and it manages to resist the seediness of the immediate environment of the tourist area of Hollywood. Rooms are clean, the bed was comfy, and the whole hotel feels quaintly historic. That said, my room was $300 and it was tiny. The bathroom was so small that the door could not be closed while using the toilet. But my biggest issue was the billing. They place a $150 hold for incidentals which, five days later, remains on my credit card. There was a mistaken charge for valet parking for someone else's car on my bill, which was reversed, and then after I checked out, they charged me for a min-bar charge for something I did not take -- I didn't use anything from the mini-bar at all and even brought my own bottled water. When I got home, I requested that the charge be reversed and Stephanie at the front desk said it would be reversed. It still has not been. I don't know if these are honest mistakes on the Hollywood Roosevelt's part or if it's a matter of practice, but either way, it points to a quality issue in their guest relations and should be fixed...especially when rates are so high for such small rooms. I would encourage anyone who stays here to pay close attention to their bill each day you're there, and even days later. Read less
