The hotel

Set amongst the shaded dappled groves of Sequoia National Park, Wuksachi provides an elegant approach to accommodation with a full-range of modern fixtures and fittings to compliment the sublime surrounding scenery. Throughout the lodge you'll discover rich strains of cedar and stone which have been placed to make the most of the enchanted environment, with floor to ceiling windows and snug fireplaces maximising an array of enduring natural images. A full-service restaurant allows guests to prepare for the day ahead, or recount events during the evening, over a plate of sumptuous Sierra Alpine cuisine; and just before you hit the hay there's a handy cocktail lounge for just one last cheeky nightcap. What with all that fine food and fresh forest air, getting a good night's rest is never in doubt and thanks to a good choice of hotel standard en-suite guest rooms, there's no better place to recuperate in order to do it all again at sun rise.

Centrally located and the food at the Peak Restaurant was good! The rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Centrally located and the food at the Peak Restaurant was good! The rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Since I booked last minute, the cost was steep through Expedia for 3 nights for 2, which cost us over $2000. The downside was after we checked in, we had to drive to our building and carry our luggage up several steps and then we saw the luggage cart and used it which you have to push up through the ADA walkway. Then when we got to our building, we had to carry everything up 4 flights of stairs to our room. No elevators. Luckily, we each only had a carry-on and a backpack. Read less

We stayed in a superior room, which includes AC and a separate living room area. It was nice to have a couch and big tv for relaxing after a long day in the park. The beds were comfy and shower had good pressure. This place costs a little more, but you get what you pay for. Totally worth it , highly recommended.

The Lodge is very quiet. It did involve more walking than I anticipated. There are 3 buildings that are all separate, and then there is the Lodge where Registration is, along with a very small gift shop, a Pizza Deck, Bar(extremely small....only about 5 chairs at a bar,) and Restaurant. The pizza on the deck was very good. The Peaks Restaurant had fairly good food if you ordered simple food like burgers, sandwiches, chili, chicken pot pie. Our 45٫00 dollar steaks were paper thin, gray and just not at all what we expected when ordering a steak at a finer restaurant. Our server was abysmal. The room we had was a superior corner room. Smaller than anticipated. Clean. Old time type bathroom with tub/shower combo with an old discolored tub. Would have been nice to have grab bars. Also would have preferred individual soaps and hair care products instead of the liquid pumps on the walls. Window air conditioner. I think it is probably the nicest accommodation in the Park. So, it served it's purpose, and the employees, except for our waitress at the Peaks, we're very nice and friendly. Enjoy your vacation! Read less

Based on past experiences with accommodations in National Parks, I was not expecting much when I arrived at Wuksachi Lodge. I was pleasantly surprised. The location was peaceful and beautiful, set off from other park activities. The room was quiet, spacious and comfortable. Adirondack chairs on the property allowed for outside enjoyment of the beautiful surroundings. We had one issue with room cleanliness, but I’ll chalk that up to a one time fluke. The on-site restaurant, Peaks, was a disappointment but the pizza deck had great pizza and a beautiful and peaceful location. Spent two nights at Wuksachi, wish I could have stayed longer. Read less

The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere was great. Even thought we were a "captured audience" because we were in the National Park and 45 minutes to get outside the park - we were pleased with the selection/price/service of the restaurants, and the hotel amenities' - The Wuksachi Lodge did not take advantage of the situation.
