The hotel

Bang on trend, this hotel’s industrial-meets-chic styling is completely in keeping with its neighbourhood, the fast-flourishing Seaport district. Its spot in this trendy borough’s pretty enviable too, just across the road from its coolest hangout space, Lawn on D, which hosts food trucks, live events, and free yard games and WiFi. Inside the hotel there's plenty to offer too, a suitably contemporary indoor pool space,  live entertainment at D's Keys Dueling Piano Bar or W XYZ Bar, and 24-hour dining and fitness - ideal whatever time you return from exploring Boston’s most famous attractions. From the Freedom Trail to the shopping around Faneuil Hall, the city’s biggest draws are all within a couple of miles.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Fabulous staff (Aisha and Emanuele). Facilities in urgent need of an upgrade

Absolutely fabulous staff, in particular Aisha and Emanuele. Unfortunately, the facilities are in need of an update - carpets are worn and heavily stained. The A/C thermostat emits strong light that’s quite bothersome at night (it was positioned close to the bed in our room). Read less

I frequently stay at Marriott properties, but this was my first time staying at an Aloft. Never again. This was not worth the money they charged, and they should be ashamed of charging anything over $100/night. Our room was honestly gross: -bathroom had stains on wall behind toilet (see pictures) and mold in shower. -ceiling above our bed looked like it had recently been renovated, with shoddy patchwork and a handprint (?!) - see picture. -fire alarm light, pictured here in the daytime, blinked all night long. To add to the nastiness of our room: -upon check-in, we were not informed of the $15 credit you can spend in the store/bar to offset the $30 resort fee. We later found a card on one of the tables in our room with this information; however, the fine print stated that you cannot use the credit when checking out. We only stayed for one night, so we were out $15. If this had been explained to me when I was checked in, I wouldn't have lost out on this. -the pool is tiny and was cramped each time we visited. It's located on the first floor, so you have to walk through the lobby from the elevators in your swimsuits, and again, will see people dripping from the pool walking back through the lobby to get to the room elevators. My one compliment: -Plenty of metered parking on D Street to avoid having to pay the hotel for parking. Again, shame on this hotel for charging anything over $100/night. There are plenty of other options in the area and I will never be back to this one. Read less

Alina and Aisha are amazing they are real people person. Alina makes you feel like you entered her home like you are a friend. The service was excellent. Very informative and knowledgeable of the area. I am so grateful for their service. I had the best time.

Clearly not the best option when comparing and contrasting. Room cost is high (over 350 a night), breakfast is NOT included, and what is offered for sale is pittiful. Clearly not the best option when comparing and contrasting. Room cost is high (over 350 a night), breakfast is NOT included, and what is offered for sale is pittiful. There is a Brazilian restaurant on the ground floor, but not affiliated with the hotel (so you can't charge meals to your room). Regarding the room, the towels are flat and lifeless, Room service is slow and incomplete (key things are left off), and the design of the bathroom and bedroom is not practical, whatever the style might be. Location is a positive, for sure. A significant issue is the number and type of fees you are charged, from a 'sitting fee' to a daily $25 'convenience fee', and parking is $55/night, with $26 added if you valet when you arrive. All in all, it was a good place to sleep, but I don't recommend it. Read less
