The hotel

Anyone can stay on a beach in Mauritius — but the prime location of Radisson Blu Azuri Resort & Spa will make your stay that extra bit special. Set on a sweep of lagoon-washed sand, the resort is also framed by preserved mangroves. In the marine village of Azuri, you get to immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan village life and experience the beach and island activities all rolled into one. Passionate about design and attention to detail, the resort offers contemporary interiors, such as an inviting lobby with iconic shell chandeliers, oversized headboards in spacious guest rooms and many more. Guests always stay connected with complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel, including the beach. Of course some things reflect the ‘pure beach retreat’, like your balcony or terrace; the ocean and infinity pool option among its four restaurants and bars; and the al fresco activities like water sports and kayak safaris. Guests have also access to activities and restaurants (with credit) at the adults-only sister hotel Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette Resort & Spa with the 'Blu Passport Concept' — a unique offering full hotel interchangeability with complimentary inter hotel transfer to enhance your holiday.

Peaceful Stay but Not for Everyone – Read Before You Book We recently spent a week at this resort, and while there are certainly some lovely aspects, a few things left us disappointed. Here’s an honest, detailed review to help fellow travellers make an informed decision. 🌟 What We Loved 01. Spacious Rooms & Bathrooms: The rooms are large, well-maintained, and comfortable. The bathroom is even bigger — with a separate toilet, bathtub, and plenty of space. It truly felt luxurious. 02. Housekeeping: The housekeeping staff was courteous and efficient. Our room was always spotless. 03. Breakfast & Warm Hospitality: Breakfast was decent, but what made mornings special was Mr. Ramesh, who greeted us each day with a wide, heartfelt smile. A genuine gem who knows how to make guests feel welcome. 04. Infinity Pool Overlooking the Beach: A stunning, clean pool with great views — perfect for unwinding at any hour. 05. Aesthetic Beach Lounge Area: The beachfront lounge is thoughtfully designed, featuring quirky touches like a giant chessboard, boat-shaped seats, and secluded nooks. Ideal for relaxing or clicking some great photos. ⚠️ What Didn’t Work for Us (A) Dining Options Are Severely Limited: The main restaurant only serves buffet dinner — no à la carte. One night, the buffet was entirely seafood, which isn’t great for those with allergies or dietary restrictions. Other dining venues serve only specific cuisines — one offers just steak and burgers, another only pizza and pasta. All require prior reservation. If you’re vegetarian, or not into Italian/American food, your choices are minimal. There are no nearby alternatives — the closest food options are 20–30 km away, and there’s no public transport. (B) Beach & Activities: The beach looks beautiful, but it is rocky and unsuitable for swimming. Water activities require 24-hour advance booking and were unavailable all week due to “bad weather” (though it looked perfectly fine to us). A bit frustrating when you plan ahead and still miss out. (C) Remote Location: The resort is at the northern tip of the island. Most popular spots — like nature parks, water sports hubs, and scenic beaches — are in the southeast or southwest, which means daily travel of 3–4 hours round trip. It takes a toll if you plan to explore. (D) Reception Staff – Room for Improvement: The staff is polite in tone but not particularly open to feedback. When Ms. Shakira asked for our thoughts and I shared a few constructive suggestions, she cut me short and told me to “write it on Tripadvisor.” So here we are. ✅ Final Thoughts If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded getaway and don’t plan to leave the resort much — and you’re flexible with food — this place might suit you. But if you’re a traveler who likes to explore, experience local flavors, or enjoys more activity, I’d suggest staying in the southeast or southwest of Mauritius — areas like Belle Mare, Palmar, Trou d’Eau Douce, Ile aux Cerfs, Tamarin, Flic en Flac, or Le Morne are better connected, more vibrant, and offer much more for the adventurous soul. Hotel is aging and needs attention, there was no WOW factor. No swimming beeches available and due to the constant wind during our stay there was no swimming platform either,7 days and not 1 ocean swim,we were left disappointed. So if you enjoy a nice dip in the ocean …..this is not the place for you.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay that felt more like a home away from home, all thanks to the incredible hospitality of the team—especially Manager Vinay. From the moment we arrived, Vinay took care of us like family. He was always present, attentive, and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and happy throughout our stay. His warm and genuine approach made a huge difference and truly elevated our experience. The location is serene yet well-connected, and our room was spotless and cozy—special thanks to Kavita for keeping everything impeccably clean and organized. The atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming, making it easy to relax. In terms of value, we got much more than we expected. The service across the board was excellent, and the cleanliness throughout the property was top-notch. The amenities were well-maintained and thoughtfully provided. We also thoroughly enjoyed the food—Chef Ramesh made every meal a treat with his delicious, well-crafted dishes. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a heartfelt and memorable stay—especially under Vinay’s caring and capable leadership. Read less
