The place was beautiful and the service was impeccable. This is universally recognized so I’m not going into details on that. I’m going to talk about three things that bothered me the most 1. I stayed at room 214. The TV in room was not responding for a few minutes no matter what we pressed and it took us multiple attempt to try to connect to our phone. It finally worked after about 30 minutes of trying. I’m a Marriott loyalist and have used Marriott TVs countless times so I don’t think familiarity is an issue. 2. The food quality is inconsistent. I ordered Sweet and Sour pork from Kitchen twice. The first time, the pork was juicy and tender and well seasoned. The second time it was very bland and dry. Ive had the Tomahawk from the Fire restaurant and it was honestly quite tasteless and unseasoned and they charged about $400 for that. Extremely disappointed. For the breakfast I ordered over-medium fried eggs and have always gotten over-hard eggs instead for 4 days in a row. The breakfast was overall okay but lacking in variety and really not up to the standards of a $1500-ish per night luxury resort. Fish restaurant was pretty good, though. 3. At W Maldives, the Not Now sign (more well-known as the Do Not Disturb sign) is just a typical sign that you put over the doorknob. It gets blown away by the wind ALL THE TIME. When I stay at hotels, I have the dnd sign up 24/7. One time I was in the shower and had music playing and didn’t hear the knocks or doorbell and after hearing no responses the staff just decided to come in as I was walking out of the shower and he saw me almost completely naked! Why was he even here at 3-4pm anyway??? That was a truly embarrassing encounter and I really hoped they would’ve offered something when I reported this to the hotel manager but I guess not. And two times they woke me up from my much-needed nap and when my naps get disrupted I get cranky. Mind you I did not request any service for any of those times. All those times I had my DND sign up and guess what, it’s not on the doorknob when I checked. In an outdoor setting like this, the sign needs to be more stable when it’s put up. Read less

The staff are truly friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to make your stay memorable. The renovation is stunning—especially the blue bathtub and the wall of light behind the bed. Everything feels brand new, modern, and unmistakably W! There’s so much more to love about W Maldives—the amazing snorkeling, lively parties, and incredible vibes—but I probably don’t need to go into detail, because these are things everyone already knows. This place truly lives up to its reputation! Read less

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon. We stayed for one week and had the BEST time. Amenities: - Large, newly renovated rooms. Overwater bungalows with the pool offer tons of privacy, perfect for romantic getaways. - New fitness center with 3+ daily workout classes, including outdoor yoga, boxing, and HIIT, free of additional charge. Mark and Tutu are incredible trainers!! - House reef: we snorkeled almost daily and saw tons of fish and sea animals, including sea turtles, eagle rays, and the friendly reef sharks - Pool onsite: great vibes to hang out in during the day, the staff was very kind and attentive Food: - The food was incredible — from the daily breakfast buffet to restaurants onsite, we ate something new every night. - Definitely try the food at Sip, Christoper (the chef) is a mastermind with blend of Peruvian and Japanese. - Christopher went above and beyond to make me special off-menu items as I am pregnant and cannot eat raw fish; everything he prepared was fantastic. - We also tried the “traditional Sri Lankan dinner”, a special dining occasion prepared by the Kitchen restaurant. The food was amazing and the experience was both unique and romantic. What made our trip so special: - The genuine kindness from each and every staff member we interacted with. Each person is excited to bring the “Whatever, Whenever” mentality to life. - As mentioned I am pregnant and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate, sometimes without me even needing to ask (like dropping off fresh mangoes in our hotel room, which I had mentioned I was craving!) - In particular, wanted to give shoutouts to the following talent members who made our experience memorable: Hassan, Nihal, Sage, and Wamantha from the Kitchen, Lonsi and Muhey from Wet, Mark and Tutu our fitness coaches, Christopher and Wanita from Sip. PS: I normally never leave reviews. The experience at the W was worth raving about, because of the people who made it so. Read less

We had the most incredible experience at W Maldives – not only because of the stunning surroundings and luxury, but truly because of the amazing team who made us feel so welcome and cared for. A huge thank you to Nehal from the kitchen, who consistently went out of his way to offer us delicious food choices and made every meal feel personal. He was especially wonderful with our baby, Salama – always kind, thoughtful, and full of warmth. Ayesha at reception gave us the warmest welcome we’ve ever had at any resort. She’s a joy to talk to, full of positive energy, and made us feel right at home from the first moment. Mohaimen at WET quickly became Salama’s favorite person on the island! His kind nature and playful personality brought so much joy to our days by the pool. And a heartfelt shoutout to Bonita, whose smile and helpfulness never faded. She went above and beyond for us every single day and was so gentle and loving with Salama – we’re so grateful for her care. The resort was amazing, even with our salama 6 month old we enjoyed our time and staff helped us to make it memorable. food was amazing the only thing that island miss is a proffesional barista ! And cheers for the photographer for the amazing photos!! And thanks for saha for making everything easy and enjoyable ! ( late night baby puree) We will back soon ! Read less
