Whether you’re trying your hand at ping pong at Todis, indulging in local cuisine Maldivian style at Guduguda, or dining with your toes in the sand at BBQ Shak, you’ll love the fun, social vibe here. Where is it

Located on Huruvalhi Island, Raa Atoll, to the Northwest of Male. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 40 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Hotel information

115 villas, all featuring a king size bed, separate day bed, air conditioning, plunge pool, sun loungers with private decks, direct access to lagoon or beach, mini-bar*, tea/coffee-making facilities, flat screen TV, mood lighting, soaking bathtub and shower with disco ball, flat-screen TV, custom bath amenities, comfy bathrobes, WiFi, and an activity wall. Lagoon Overwater Pool Villa’s feature direct water access from the private deck and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Board basis options

Breakfast Included: all stays include daily buffet breakfast with coffee, tea and juice in the main restaurant Kula.

Half Board option: two-meal plan, including daily buffet breakfast with coffee, tea and juice included, and dinner in main restaurant Kula. All guests on Half Board meal plan will receive a dinner credit of USD 45 per person per day for specialty restaurants.

Full Board option: three-meal plan, including daily buffet breakfast with coffee, tea and juice included, lunch, and dinner in the main restaurant Kula. All guests on Full Board meal plan will receive a dinner credit of USD 45 per person per day for specialty restaurants.

All-Inclusive option: breakfast, lunch and dinner with select beverages served at Kula Restaurant only. Select alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (valid at Kula, Todis, Joos Cafe, Guduguda, and BBQ Shak during operating hours). Select mini-bar items replenished once daily. For stays of 5 nights or more, guests will receive resort credit of $50 USD per villa per stay.

All-Inclusive Plus: breakfast is served at Kula Restaurant, lunch is served at Kula Restaurant, Joos café, and Todis; and dinner is served at Kula Restaurant, Guduguda, BBQ Shak, Beru Bar (IZAKAYA), and Joos Café. At speciality restaurants – pre booking required. Selected beverages are available in all restaurants, bars and cafe: Premium brands of spirits, beer, liqueur, unlimited cocktails and mocktails, signature drinks, various juices, soft drinks, mineral water and selection of tea/coffee, Champagne, and over 50 plus selections of premium wines, Prosecco and sparkling wines from all around the world. Rare selections of wine and spirit not covered in All Inclusive Plus but are discounted by 25%. Mini-bar will be replenished once daily and two wines, two bottles of spirits of choice, 4 beers, soft drinks and water will be included. A bottle of sparkling wine will be included on arrival. Water sport: kayaks (excluding glass bottom), standup paddle, wind surfing 1-hour per day and 10% discount on other selected water sports activities. Excursions: one excursion is included from a choice of sunset fishing/dolphin cruise/snorkelling safari and/island hopping experience with 2 local islands. The Standard Spa: $50 credit per person per stay. Laundry: one standard bag laundry per stay (dry-cleaning not available).

Ocean Overwater Pool Villas are situated just a few meters away from the house reef, with amazing, uninterrupted ocean views. These villas feature a partial open-air bathroom, as well as direct water access from the private deck and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Lagoon Beach Pool Villas offer 137 sqm of living space with a king-sized bed, a separate daybed, a private deck with sun loungers and a plunge pool, an open-air bathroom with a giant bathtub, double vanity sinks and stellar views of the white sand beach. Sleeping maximum 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

Ocean Beach Pool Villas have gorgeous views of the white sand beach and ocean, with direct beach access from the private deck and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

KULA (main restaurant with a colourful menu, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner). TODIS BAR (just off the pool deck, serving luxurious bar favourites with a local twist). JOOS CAFÉ (all-day hangout spot serving smoothies, coffees, sweet and savoury breakfast, and light meals). GUDUGUDA (dine in traditional Maldivian style, with delicious local cuisine made with only the freshest ingredients, and an adjacent lounge serving shisha). BBQ SHAK (casual and fun feet-in-the-sand experiences, with fresh seafood and meat grill beachfront). BERU BAR (cocktails and bar snacks in a stunning overwater setting). TONIC (adults-only, wellness-focused swim-up bar located at The Standard Spa).

Our third stay at the Standard Maldives and definitely not the last. We were very grateful to have been welcomed back by the incredible hotel team, it really felt like home from the first moment. Nice to see the concept developments happening under the new brand of Hyatt, we are looking forward to see the upcoming changes. It's already noticeable how much the food options have improved, especially at the Izakaya where the Japanese cuisine is just phenomenal. The key to us coming back to the Standard for the third time belongs to the people working at the resort. We can't thank Rajesh and Sujata enough for their top level care, be it a Kula bar or at GudaGuda & BBQ, they always knew what we needed even before we knew ourselves. Riaz from the pasta corner is an absolute master of his craft, from the very first till the last day I ended up eating just pasta for lunch at Kula because it's just too good to pass on. Nelson from Beru deserves a special mention too, it's extremely heartwarming when people are genuinely happy to see guests being back at the resort. Nelson did remember us instantly and showed incredible love yet again and it's very mutual. Hope you're enjoying your vacation. These people are exceptional professionals and even better human beings. As for Mr. D, there are simply no words to describe what gem of a person he is. We are simply grateful to have met him and this relationship is already going beyond the hotel life as it's the connection we will cherish. It's hard to digest that a single person can have such a profound impact, not only on our stay, but also personally. We wish him and his wife Naza greatest success both in life and professionally. Mr. D needs to be included in the UNESCO World heritage lists, please treat him well because he's one of the main reasons for us to visit the Standard again. Read less

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the breathtaking scenery, the exquisite cuisine, and the outstanding service provided by most of the staff during my stay at your resort in the Maldives. The crystal-clear waters, powdery white sands, and vibrant marine life truly made this a paradise on earth. The culinary team’s creativity and attention to detail in every meal were remarkable, and the rest of the service staff were always friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure a memorable experience.​ However, I must bring to your attention my severe dissatisfaction with the service provided by my assigned butler, Shamaau. Despite the generous tip I gave him upon our first meeting, his performance fell far short of the high standards I expected from a luxury resort. Shamaau failed to proactively assist with service bookings, and it required multiple reminders before he took any action. In fact, I ended up making most of the service arrangements myself.​ Furthermore, Shamaau misled me regarding room availability. When I requested a room change due to certain issues, he informed me that no other rooms were available. It was only after I personally contacted the front desk that I was able to secure a more suitable accommodation. This lack of transparency and unhelpful attitude was extremely disappointing.​ As a result of this experience, I have shared my story on various Chinese platforms, including the Chinese version of TikTok, specifically highlighting the issues with Shamaau’s service. While I still hold the resort’s natural beauty and the efforts of the majority of the staff in high regard, Shamaau’s performance significantly impacted my overall impression of the resort and lowered my rating.​ I hope that you will take appropriate measures to address this matter and ensure that such issues do not occur in the future. I believe that constructive feedback is essential for maintaining the high level of service that your resort is known for. Read less
