Just returned from two weeks in paradise. Sun Siyam Villu Reef is a beautiful, small island, with an excellent house reef easily accessed from the beach. The accommodation is pristine and in terms of dining easily the best food we have eaten on an all inclusive holiday. The Aqua buffet restaurant is available for breakfast lunch and dinner and has lots of cooking stations where you can order freshly prepared dishes. Spice provides lovely Italian food at lunch and absolutely delicious curries at night. Equally delicious are the gourmet meals provided both at lunch and dinner by Well Done. The Nautilus Bar is lovely for sunset cocktails or post dinner drinks and the Positive Energy bar keeps you well hydrated by the pool. However, the most special part of this resort is every single member of staff, too many to mention by name but here a few of them (sorry for any spelling mistakes). Firstly our wonderful cleaner Basnet who kept our room spotlessly clean and well supplied for 2 weeks. Also Shohag who cleaned our room on Basnet’s day off, our wedding anniversary and did lovely decorations for us. A shout out to Digajan and Ranjith in The Nautilus Bar, Chef Kushal, Nisha, Juri and Reddy in Spice, Dilshand and Ram in Well Done, Asmita, Vijay, Dilshan, Lahufaan and Shayan in Aqua and Thursara, Sujita and Chris in Positive Energy. First time visit to The Maldives after a family recommendation, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef exceeded all our expectations in every aspect. From stepping off the Sea Plane it was apparent that this location was likely to be something special and it delivered on all counts. The rooms were large, thoughtfully planned and were exceptionally clean and in our case the individual pool, large swing and patio furniture were all well used by us. The restaurants consistently provided high quality food, The Aqua with its varying buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The themed evenings and live cooking stations adding to the variety. A la carte options at both Well Done and The Spice were really good - be sure to make a reservation. Both the Bars, The Nautilus and Positive Energy were there for drinks, snacks and entertainment. Positive Energy providing the pool side refreshments and The Nautilus was an amazing bar with undercover seating and tables stood on a carpet of pure white sand, outside tables, sofa's, beanbags along with over water hammocks all great for a cocktail whilst watching the sun set. The whole resort is well maintained with some amazing views, a house reef which was teaming with fish, each snorkelling session providing more surprises. We also enjoyed immensely our boat trip and the opportunity to swim with Turtles, Nurse Sharks along with feeding the Rays which was unforgettable. What really sets Vilu Reef apart is the amazing staff, warm welcomes, always smiling whilst going above and beyond in delivering exceptional customer service. The whole team contributed to giving us an unforgettable experience and all deserve a shout out, although I can't name them all a big thanks to; Chef Chamunda - great food sampling and treats. Shayan in The Aqua - kept the wine glass topped up. Reddy - who rocked up everywhere. Chris in Nautilus - always smiling with time for a chat, not forgetting the drinks and names. Shamaal our host - from meet and great, daily updates of events and activities, to just being there right to us stepping back onto the Seaplane.
