Tropical gardens, lavish luaus and calm waves characterise Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Gentle people, laughter and good cheer help every member of the family to capture that laid-back South Pacific mood in no time at all. Rooms are airy and have a tropical feel with bamboo and wood décor. When exploring the resort, tell the kids to look out for the unique Kukai Nut tree. The only one of its kind in the state of Florida, the tree was brought to the Walt Disney World Resort from its native Hawaii. The hotel is on the monorail system that will whizz you to the Magic Kingdom Park.

It’s been through some room remodels and they upgrades are good. The bathrooms are much smaller than some of the others and not as functional with location of the sinks and showers. At this price point they should look to remedy that. The transportation options and close proximity to amenities are priceless, and Disney knows it. This will cost a pretty penny to stay at for Disney, with only the Grand Floridian costing more than this place. Still, I cannot say enough good things about the Polynesian. Forever one of my favorite resorts. The location, the vibe, food, drinks, pool, transportation, just stunning. If you can swing it, stay here! Read less

Despite multiple reminders no housekeeping/ cleaning was done in rooms 2318 and 2319 on 30 th May . It appears Disney quality has declined to pathetic services over last few years . Rooms are mediocre and appear stale . The phones had static and it was inaudible , so you could not even lodge any complaints. Having stayed in some spectacular hotels in similar price range across Asia / India / Japan recently , you realize how pathetic and inferior services are in some of these US hotels speaks a lot about deterioration of hospitality to its worst . Taking advantage of its location is its only redeemable feature. Read less

One of Disney World’s 3 Monorail Resorts

This is the Hawaiian/Polynesian themed Resort on the monorail at Walt Disney World They now have Moana themed rooms. They just opened a new DVC Tower that is super nice as well. The Wailulu Bar and Grill is super delicious. The smell of the lobby is also unique as well and would like a candle of that.

We love this resort and have stayed at either the Polynesian or Grand Floridian for 8 years in a row. I would give it a perfect score, but there was one minor problem which caused a great deal of discomfort. I am 57 and cannot be exposed to sun damage like when I was young and always relax under an umbrella at pools. However, in 7 nights of staying there and all of the money we paid, we were never able to get a chair with an open umbrella. Even though all of the umbrellas were open with no one sitting under, they were all reserved with Towels and I am not one of those people who will get up early and take a spot for the entire day without using it. I like on my vacation to just find a shaded spot to enjoy their beautiful pool. However, there were none open any days. I am completely perplexed that when paying over $600/night that we cannot get an umbrella when lesser resorts have plenty of them. I know this is minor, but it will prevent me from staying here in the future, unless we can be assured that we will have one. We therefore could not enjoy the pool which was very sad. Read less
