We booked a night to experience the extended evening hours at MK. We had a fantastic day by the pools - kids LOVED the slide. They said it was better than wilderness lodge which is extremely high praise from them! They also loved the splash pad which was spacious with lots of seating and a great time for kids under 48’. We arrived late morning and got sun beds easily by the main pool which I didn’t expect given the online warnings on social media regarding how grounds maintenance had reduced the numbers. The pool area seemed a lot more peaceful than other resorts we’ve stayed at - wilderness lodge, AOA and fort wilderness cabins. It was also nice sunbathing watching the monorail go by. We had lunch at the pool bar which was tasty and not badly priced. We also had a decent quick service breakfast. Staff very friendly - front desk, bell services, pool bar, quick service, mousekeeping and shops. I gave more cast compliments at this resort than our entire vacation. The lobby bar is under construction but it didn’t impact the overall decor for us. We stayed in Big Pine Key which was situated right by the lobby and amenities. We had a lovely sunny balcony in the afternoon facing the pool and even had a glimpse of space mountain and was so nice to relax with a cup of tea listening to the ferry and MK railroad. The room was spacious and tastefully renovated with Mary Poppins theme. The shower/tub was great and we all had plenty of room. Beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Mattress was nice and firm which I really appreciated. We wanted to hire a boat for $50/30 minutes but sadly ran out of time. Gives us an excuse to return! It’s wonderful to be so close to MK and stroll back in peace at the end of the night. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I was worried that it maybe too adult for us but it was perfect. First time at this hotel, and rainy weekend kept us from a full experience. The lobby is almost completely blocked off from construction but that actually helped our checkin as we sat face to face with a lovely cast member in comfortable chairs with a hand held computer and did not wait in a long line. i did not complete on-line check-in as I wanted to deal with a real person in hopes we would get a room better suited to 2 senior citizens meeting family for Mother's Day weekend. WE were able to get a toaster and microwave for our room so we didn't have to leave the building for breakfast and when i saw the very large shower also asked if bathmats were available for our safety and a brand new one appeared! The only negative was the overly plush pillows that couldn't be squished no matter how hard we tried! My husband actually slept on some folded towels so he wouldn't hurt his neck. We only ate at the grill which was a bit of a disappointment. Most of the flatbread we ordered went in the garbage but the fries were good. Another day's sandwich was much better. I watched the fireworks from the marina right next to our building, a definite plus. I realized too late that we might have called for a ride to the main building for breakfast on our last full day because it was pouring down rain outside and we didn't want to get drenched. But we packed up early and made the best of it at the park later that day with smaller crowds due to the weather. Read less

No service, just embarrassment when they saw I had a mimosa in my hand for arrival. Staying at the club level for my eight year anniversary of being married here and was denied my massage without warning for having any alcohol prior to appointment. Very disappointing service. Would not recommend.

The monorail and bus services to the parks are second to none. Special mention to the pianists in the lobby who played the piano absolutely superbly entertaining us with Disney favourites. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, we had a beautiful stay and were very sad to be leaving. Read less

This was a hotel I’ve always wanted to stay at. I finally got to last week. The grounds were extremely well kept. All staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Despite construction, the main lobby was very clean. We stayed in Boca Chica in a 3rd floor water view room…great view of the castle and nightly boat parade and fireworks. Our room was spacious and clean. My surprise was with more of the little things that started to add up. - My 8 yr old arrived with a broken foot. Not one person asked if we needed assistance with wheel chair/stroller for the park or if we needed other assistance for this injury during the stay. - We were supposed to have free mini golf but no one told us until the night before we left. - The hot water in the entire hotel didn’t work for 12+ hours but no updates were shared or compensation offered. When paying $1000 per night, I expect more. - We got back from the parks and were relaxing for the night so we decided to watch tv. My kid went to watch Disney+ but had to enter login info. While we have that streaming service, I was surprised that they didn’t offer it complimentary. - My sisters and their families also stayed at the GF. One sister was leaving early in the morning for the airport so she scheduled bell services to come to the room to get the luggage at a specific time. They didn’t show up. She waited 10 minutes and then she and her family just lugged everything out of the building, through the lobby, and out to the parking area themselves. None of these things individually were horrible but when paying a fair amount to be at a luxury resort, I was surprised that the ball was dropped. That being said, I still would stay there again.
