The Terraces at The Grove Resort & Water Park

Kissimmee, Orlando

Star rating

The hotel

A brand new hotel within the Grove Resort complex, The Terraces offer the perfect balance between fun and relaxation. A smaller, modern complex (with it's separate check-in for ease), this brings a chilled atmosphere when you're hanging by the pool, or reading on your balcony, and is great for couples who still want to enjoy the thrills and spills of Orlando. Complete with a poolside bar, and a coffee/deli style counter in the lobby, you don't need to go far for anything, and with a kitchenette in the suites you can even heat yourself up a quick dinner in the evening. However, wander over to the Grove Resort and Waterpark and you have full access to a huge waterpark complete with slides, lazy river and more, an activity centre with arcade games, and a wider selection of bars and restaurants. And then just a stones throw away (well, a complimentary shuttle ride actually) you have Walt Disney World - the pinnacle of Orlando, where you'll find even more excitement.

Ok so hear me out… Pros: check in was quick and easy. Parking is convenient. Price was reasonable. Cons: rooms are in desperate need of a deep deep deep clean and renovation. Ok so hear me out… Pros: check in was quick and easy. Parking is convenient. Price was reasonable. Cons: rooms are in desperate need of a deep deep deep clean and renovation. The carpet is old and grungy looking. The tile floor needs a good scrub. And the bathrooms…. I tried not to look too close. I couldn’t bare it. We discovered several cob webs all over our room. One night we discovered a huge cob web over the bed, and we witnessed spiders crawling in and out of the artwork above the bed. The furniture was banged up and in desperate need of repair or replacement. The bedroom windows had thick thick layers of dust and lord knows what on them. I was scared to even touch the blinds. Wait staff was hit or miss. Some were friendly, some were not. The water park…ok let’s be real, can we just call it what it is? It’s a larger pool area. It’s also dirty and dingy. The layout of the resort is super confusing. Signs are misleading (in my opinion.) also, the walls are really thin. Pool area was often loud most nights. Over all I can see why this place was so “cheap.” The restaurants are overpriced and I’m not sure why they refer to this property as a resort. Would I stay here again… probably not. Read less

We have been coming here for years and sadly this will probably be the last time. When you pay for a resort experience, you should have pool chairs available. Every day the chairs would be full by 10:30 am and we and other families were forced to leave our belongings on the concrete. I saw a family with a child with a broken leg, searching hopelessly for a chair. They ended up placing their items on the floor next to us:( Every day was the same - families roaming around the pool area looking for chairs to no avail. Bottom line: The resort should not be booking rooms if they do not have enough chairs for their guests. Additionally, the resort used to provide fresh towels daily a few years back, but now guests are provided with paper thin towels that they have to keep for their entire stay. No hand soap in the bathrooms. The Marketplace in the mornings was so busy, there was a 30 min wait for coffee. The pros: rooms are a nice size, lazy river and slides are a hit with the kids and the arcade Flip Flops is entertaining. Despite the pros, we will not be back until improvements are made. Read less
