Esme Miami Beach

South Beach, Miami

Star rating

The hotel

Bringing an edgy yet sexy Espanola vibe to South Beach, Esme is a hotel come “village” that offers a fun and sophisticated place to stay to enjoy the best of Miami. There’s no doubt that the rooftop deck is the place to be here. Chill at the pool by day, whether it’s in the water or on the very ‘instagrammable’ day beds. As the day draws to a close, enjoy a sundowner from The Roof Bar and soak up the music. Live DJ sessions carry on into the night on Friday’s and Saturdays so you can celebrate the weekend in style. There’s plenty of other bars and restaurants to enjoy at Esme, make sure you book a reservation at the hidden Sushi Bar with only 12 prized seats so you can devour nigiri to your hearts content. As you walk through the buildings of the hotel you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into Spain with the plant lined terraces and deep red tones, and then that glorious sunshine will hit you as you leave the lobby – where you’re just 4 minutes’ stroll from Ocean Drive and the beach itself. If you carry on down past the Versace Mansion (which we’d recommend booking into for lunch!) to the Art Deco Gift Shop, you can join a tour of the Art Deco district. Or make use of the complimentary bicycle rental from the hotel to explore Miami Beach at your own agenda. If it’s more down time you’re looking for, the hotel offers a beach service with towels and chairs too.

Smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. When i complained as we checked out, i was old ‘This is a boutique hotel’. We’ve stayed in quite a few boutique hotels and they all had wardrobes you could actually use. The wardrobe in our room had the fridge, coffee machine and safe inside. So you’re left with a space with room for four coat hangers. Four hangers for two people for three nights. On top of that there is no room to leave your suitcases out so you have to open and close them on the floor two or three times a day and then put them back under the bed. Room wasn’t cleaned the whole trip. On morning one, the maid knocked on the door and i said to give us 10 minutes as we were just leaving. She didn’t speak English and so didn’t understand. That’s not her fault. It’s the hotel’s responsibility to make sure their staff can communicate. She didn’t come back. The next knock on the door was late afternoon, asking to come in and clean the room. Well no, we’re in the middle of showering and getting dressed to go out for dinner. Next morning, as we leave, the maid is cleaning the room next door so we think our room will be next. Nope, we come back to the room as we left it. Same thing in the afternoon, they knock as we’re getting ready to go out. As we leave for dinner, i tell reception that the room is free now and can they let housekeeping know. We come back to two towels on the bed. Bed hasn’t been made and the dirty towels are still in the bathroom. We checked out the next morning. 2/5 because the location was good Read less

I'd give this a 3٫5 if possible - it was a great location first and foremost and the service from the staff was also very good and helpful. We had a room in the other building and as others have said it was very small and also very dark. Not unexpected and in fairness we managed for our 2 night stay despite having a lot of luggage ahead of a cruise! However I ended up black and blue on my legs as kept catching the wooden bed frame as I edged my way round the bed!! The bed was comfy and room quiet so sleep was pretty good.. The resort fees are probably to be expected and we made use of the beach chairs and towels, plus rooftop pool. Surprised they included coffee but not water in the room. Overall a good stay in a great location Read less

We had a great time at the ESMÉ. I read a lot of complaints but none of them were anything like our experience. Yes, the room was tiny (much like all boutique hotels) but there was housekeeping, the espresso in the room was great, there were no charges for chairs and towels at the beach, the roof was a pleasant place to hang, location great too.… قراءة المزيد

Stayed at this hotel for Miami Boat show in February. When I Checked out, confirmed all charges were accounted for. Had a charge show up on my Credit Card for additional $'s. I called to find out what charges were for and to find out why i wasn't emailed an updated Folio. Charges were for water mini bar but did not match what was used. They agreed to issue a Credit. Credit has not been applied 4 weeks later and it has proven to be impossible to get anyone on the phone or an accurate email for anyone. Manager is busy and can't take or return calls. Have used this hotel for many years. No more. Read less
