The hotel

Just a 10 minute drive from Tampa International Airport, this hotel is a great place to stop on your journey into the gulf coast, before you head off to one of many famous beaches. Connected by the causeway, there’s easy access to Clearwater, so you can have your feet in that soft white sand in no time. You don’t need to leave the hotel to get views of the water though, watch the bayside sunsets from your room, or whilst dining at the waterfront grill, sipping on your favourite cocktail.

Nestled in the Rocky Point business district, overlooking Tampa Bay, just a 10 minute walk from the beach. Distance from Tampa International Airport: 5 miles.

291 guest rooms and suites across 7 floors, all with air-conditioning, complimentary WiFi access, 55-inch LCD TV, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, mini fridge, bathroom amenities, and hairdryer. 

Standard Rooms feature two queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Pool and Bay View Rooms with either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Sunset View Rooms with either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults. 

Bay View Patio rooms are located on the ground floor with a private patio, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Suites feature a separate living room with sofa bed, wet bar area with mini fridge and microwave, and bedroom with either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 6 people. 

BLUFIN Waterfront Grill (casual all-day dining, with indoor and outdoor seating).

Sandy was a pleasure for breakfast. Being away from home for work isn’t always easy and she is so sweet and pleasant. Food and Service was great! Recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton Tampa Rocky Point Waterfront, had dinner and breakfast here would recommend it and will definitely stay here again.

The food is tasty and the rooms are clean. The location is great and the view is really nice! Kim at the front desk was AMAZING! She was so patient with me as I was being a bit high maintenance! She was accommodating and super sweet! Thank you Kim!!

Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT STAY at this location. It looks so beautiful in photos. But the experience is the worst I’ve ever had. They will charge you a $300 smoking fee for CURLING YOUR HAIR. CURLING YOUR HAIR!! That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Without coming to my room to check, they just automatically charged it to my card. I explained I’m in the medical field, I do not smoke at all. And had to REQUEST THEM to come see for themselves. Upon checking, the front desk put in his report that he in-fact did not smell any smoke. I made sure to get a printed copy of this. Thank goodness I did because it took me days to get a hold of an actual manager. The manager stated there was nothing he could do because the smoking detector was evidence. I told him I had evidence too from his own staff. And that if he didn’t return my money I would take this to the local news and better buisness bureau because this is fraud. You stole my money for curling my hair. And now I have a new fear unlocked about staying in hotels. I couldn’t sleep that whole night. The plumbing is awful, sounds like a loud gurgling coming from the sink. No managers can be reached. The staff was unfriendly except for the one assistant manager. After threatening to take it further they refunded my money. It’s been 6 days and I just TODAY received my refund. Save yourselves. I wish they would refund my entire stay since I was distraught the entire trip. And days to follow. Read less

This hotel was beyond amazing. The beautiful views of the water and the amazing pool. Great front desk staff and clean rooms. I will 100% be back. Also don’t forget about the warm cookies! I would recommend this hotel for family’s, couples, business travelers, anyone really.
