The hotel

This seaside family-fun hotel has a prime beachfront location, you can take to the sand for a sunbathe, or the sea for some kayaking at ease. A little wander along the beachfront trail will take you to St John's Pass one way, or St Pete's Beach the other (you can also get the free island hopper if it's a bit too hot for walking) so you've got restaurants, bars and shopping in either direction. Back at the hotel the sundeck is a great place to catch the rays and enjoy some family games together. And Wave Zone will keep the kids happy, with more games and a pool table, whilst you grab a drink or a snack at the cafe. When the sun is setting, head to Sloppy Joes for happy hour out on the deck, and no doubt you'll be tempted to stay for dinner with the aroma of fresh seafood around.

Booked Bilmar Beach resort -through Priceline No where on my reservation did it say the resort was under construction, NO WHERE AT ALL The entire first floor of the resort and lobby were under construction and closed, so we had to check in at a restaurant next door. There was no notice on the second day of our stay that the water would be shut off for 4hours during peak times 10-4, my husband was given a key to a room to usethe bathroom and the ceiling was leaking on his head while he was in there ,UNSAFE! The same day they shut down one of the pools in the morning but then openedit later; there were holes in the concrete walkways . The elevators were closed down several times during our stay. The phones do not work at all and noone told us so. Every time we wanted to call the front desk, we had to use our cell phone. I had to pay a $79 resort fee for this?? This was not a $280 a night experience, pool chairs are scarce , people were setting up beach chairs by the pool. It's a great location but the resort or priceline should be honest about all the closures and construction and shutting off the water for four hours is really unacceptable. The connected restaurant was constantly understaffed and out of things both days, we wasted a lot of our vacation waiting for food and checks. POSITIVES- The staff was very nice and professional, beach chairs and pool towels are very nice too. I know it's not the staff's fault but management could do better to let the guests know what they are walking into. Ive contacted priceline about this and they said they could not provide any sort of compensation and blamed a booking partner, WEBBEDS- who also said they could not do anything- even though I paid Priceline directly. They sent me a coupon for a 20% discount on an express deal hotel, absolutely unacceptable. I have contacted the hotel and no one will call me back. BILMAR BEACH RESORT BEWARE IF YOU STAY HERE!! They do not care, they just want your money!!! Read less

This hotel is AWESOME, the staff is the best and the location is perfect. we are planning to make this our yearly trip destination. The hotel is older from the outside but you would not know it from the looks of the rooms. remodeled, clean, and wonderful.

We took three of our granddaughters who were visiting from the Seattle area for a surprise visit to The Bilmar. This was their second visit to the Bilmar. They were thrilled. What fun we had!!! Last year we moved to St. Pete area.We had been coming down to the St. Pete area for about 14 years. We rented a condo just across the Causeway in Maderia Beach. Hurricane Helene hit and then Milton. Almost everyone in our complex lost their cars and all the people in the first floor units lost their homes as well.We just lost a car.We were fortunate. It meant a lot to see the area rally and come back.Wow! We wanted to show the girls how The Bilmar was almost back to what we had enjoyed before... It's difficult for people that weren't here or have never experienced a hurricane to comprehend it all ie:what a surge is, and all the damage it can cause. I happened to read about an article about Clyde Smith,GM of The Bilmar. He was helping so many locals who had lost their homes. He even had families staying at The Bilmar. That was very moving to me.Thank you for your kindness. I also wanted to thank the staff at The Bilmar, especially Patti, who was so welcoming. She was the perfect person to create a great first impression! Thank you to Amati, from housekeeping staff. What a lovely spotless room. We've decided to move back to the Seattle area, not because of the hurricanes, but because I miss my family. We will be back soon I'm sure. Thank you for your hospitality. Warm Regards, Mary Ann W. Read less

The worst experience. Overpaid for a room claimed as pool view, looking at an elevator shaft. Late check in, construction everywhere. Staff tried to help but management not supporting. Not ready for customers. 400$ per night complete rip off.
