We loved the Sandpearl. After a long drive from Orlando, we arrive at the hotel. The valets were great, immediately handing us water as we got out of the car. There is someone there to open the door for us. There is someone else there to provide us with a welcome glass of champagne. This was our first impression and the rest didn’t disappoint. We loved the location, right on Mandalay Blvd with the hotel situated between the beach and the boulevard. In other words, we didn’t have to cross the street to get to the beach…. And we can easily walk back and forth between the beach and the pool. The service was amazing. Very friendly. Very helpful. The concierge was especially helpful in answering all my questions and making arrangements for me. For the record, all of their recommendations were spot on. The premise had an appearance of looking “new”, or at least newly renovated. The entire resort was very clean and tidy. The room were spacious with comfortable beds and plenty of space in the bathroom. The resort itself is very child friendly. Plenty of activities for the kids to participate in, both in during the day and evening. There is even a “kids club” where you can leave your kids at. There were three places to eat; one more formal, one casual, and a grab and go. All of which were great. Service and food were great as well. Anyways, I can go on. We definitely recommend staying here. Read less

The Tate Island Grill has TYLER, who we observed handling a Huge crowd so professionally we were amazed given all the drink orders and multiple children! Great choices for dining with Caretta on Gulf with bubbly AMANDA as our waitress for a delicious Grouper dinner. In the mornings, we had a huge choice of breakfast options with KATHY who made our sunrise special as we gazed at the Gulf coming to life...Top Notch Service from every single member of the staff...Can't wait to visit again...Thank you SandPearl Resort! Now the resort it is a mix bags with staff and services up and down, inefficient , slow and understaff check in desk, high fees, mini gym room, problems with beach chairs sign ups, tipping everywhere you look or touch, over crowded pool and no improvement visible. Partial ocean view rooms are above restaurant's kitchens with noisy exhaust fans and food odor all day long. Still - activity desk, shuttle service team, greeting team up front are very good and professional. Now the next door public outfit spoiled the beach area with gasoline water scooter running all day long making beach relax questionable. Read less

One big plus is the shuttle service around the island….just brilliant! We loved the renovated rooms too….hope to be back there next year sometime. No reflection on the Sandpearl resort, but Clearwater Beach need to get rid of a “common” element which is indicative of “Hogans Hangout” and such like nearby businesses that have crept in over the last few years…..not great!! Just spent spring break at the Sandpearl in a 1 bedroom corner suite. The room was fabulous, and the bed so comfortable. The pillows were very fluffy, which wasn't my cup of tea, but everyone else loved them. The resort is lovely with an amazing location right on the sand. We were there for the week before Easter which was a very crowded week, and I will say the chair issue is annoying. They do try to limit people saving chairs with their card system, but this results in a line at the towel desk when they open at 7am and having to get up before sunrise on vacation just to get 5 chairs together for my family. You have to visit your chair at least once an hour and take the card off if you don't want the staff to take your towels and belongings. It's stressful and resulted in me sitting at the chairs from about 7:30am - 11am when the rest of my family got down there with a break for breakfast in between which I had to rush out of daily (Clear Sky Cafe next door - wonderful!) to make sure our chairs were still there. I'm not sure what they could do differently. There just not enough seats for everyone. They also ran out of umbrellas at the beach each day, as did the company next door that was renting them. I don't think this would be such a big issue if it wasn't one of the most crowded weeks of the year. They have a movie by the pool each night for kids and sold a s'mores kit at the towel desk. During the day they have corn hole set up and ping pong. They had a moon bounce slip and slide type thing and balloon artist and a mermaid come to the pool. Pool service was good, but pretty slow for food. Drinks came quickly. I don't think the kitchen could keep up. They regularly had 1 hour waits for food, and one day there was a 2 hour wait so they stopped taking orders and said the kitchen was closed for them to catch up. That day, I went up to the marketplace in the lobby, but they were basically out of all food besides cookies and chips except for cuban sandwiches. There is always someone holding open the door and the few times we used valet, the car came quickly. They have water for when you leave too. The location is wonderful. You can walk to everything. We ate dinner at the Boxer, The Salty Crab North Beach (twice), Frenchy's Rockaway, Marina Cantina, and always breakfast at Clear Sky. I wish we'd tried Clear Sky for dinner. The food there was the best by far. None of the others were very memorable, but they were all solid and not terrible which I consider a win for a beach town. Housekeeping at Sandpearl was ok. They did a good job cleaning and emptying trash, making beds, etc., but I had to go searching them down multiple times for shampoo and lotion (they didn't leave any besides the first tiny bottle for the first 3 nights), toilet paper, towels and they often didn't come by 4pm. I passed housekeepers often in the halls, and I don't know if they are trained not to speak to guests, but they weren't that friendly when I said good morning or hello, and I even witnessed two of them fighting and another one crying. It was odd for such a higher end resort. The rooms were recently remodeled, and I loved having a washer and dryer (housekeeping gives you tide and bounce) and full kitchen, though we only used the fridge. It was nice to have a place to store leftovers. The views are just outstanding. I would definitely return, but I would probably try to go back at a less busy time. I would say this is definitely a 4 star resort. We had a great time and would be happy to go back. Read less
