The hotel

Nothing less than idyllic, Cape Panwa offers a quiet retreat in the southeast corner of this popular island. Excellent service, stylish rooms and world-class amenities can all be enjoyed as well as a secluded beach for hotel guests only. All suites and villas boast plenty of space and light with airy décor. There’s a variety to choose from, ideal for couples, families or groups of friends. Activities at the Cape Panwa abound – although if you want to do nothing more than laze by one of the 2 pools, that’s absolutely fine! For moments when you’re feeling more active, there are water sports galore, including canoes and stand-up paddle boards. As well as sporting activities, there are cultural activities and a spa in which to feel truly pampered. Children are welcomed with open arms and there’s plenty for them to do too, allowing parents time out to soak up the sun. Dining is plentiful at the Panwa, there are several superb restaurants, serving dishes from around the globe. There are also four bars to unwind in at the end of the day, sipping on a handcrafted cocktail perhaps whilst listening to a live band at The Light House or the swell of the sea at Bamboo Bar.

Where is it

Built into the hillside and overlooking a gorgeous stretch of white sand. Although everything is within walking distance, there’s a quirky little train to transport you between the hotel, the beach and gardens! Transfer time from Phuket Airport: 50 minutes.

205 rooms, suites and villas. All are air-conditioned with private balcony or terrace, widescreen TV with cable,  telephone, WiFi access, mini-bar*, tea/coffee maker, safe and hairdryer. Superior Rooms with partial views of the ocean have 1 king-size bed, or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child (aged 2-11 years).

Junior Suites have extra living space and large balcony with most offering partial views over Panwa Bay with 1 king-size bed, or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child (aged 2-11 years).

Cape Suite with partial sea views (limited by vegetation), master en-suite bedroom and separate lounge with sofa bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (aged 2-11 years).

Family Suites are comprised of a Cape Suite with connecting Superior Room, with master en-suite bedroom and separate lounge with sofa bed, sleeping maximum 5 adults and 4 adults and 2 children (aged 2-11 years).

Two Bedroom Pool Villa with private swimming pool and master en-suite bedroom, sleeping maximum 5 adults and 4 adults and 2 children (aged 2-11 years).

5 restaurants including: Café Andaman (International cuisine), Panwa House (Thai delicacies), Top of the Reef, Uncle Nan’s Italian Restaurant, Laem Panwa Restaurant (outdoor seafood restaurant). 4 bars including: The Light House, Otter’s Bar, Bamboo Bar, Dolphin Bar. Café Kantary.

This was a bit of a revelation; I thought it was a deal too good to be true but it was better! The moment we arrived we felt very welcome. We had a family room for 4 friends. It was very comfortable and well appointed. The pool was very clean and well maintained. There was lots of shade for the sun conscious. The beach is very picturesque with lots of sun lounges. The other pool on the beach also has a jacuzzi! This pool is smaller but it provides a great view over the beach. The beach is quite shallow and it’s recommended you wear some form of footwear as there are rocks and coral. Our package included breakfast, lunch or dinner, cocktails daily and two massages. The breakfasts were excellent and we could usually hang out until dinner. We ate in all the restaurants over the course of our stay. The best being the Top of the Reef. The Bamboo beach restaurants also very good. Happy hour was buy one get one free. Our best nights were at the Lighthouse Bar with the wonderful Panwa house Band. The only disappointment was the Coral Island tour. It was extremely difficult to get on the boat and floating jetty at the island which was not for the faint hearted. You do need to be fairly agile. The staff were absolutely terrific. The manager Jacob was very accomodating and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Read less

One of the first hotels I stayed at in Thailand where I met my girlfriend and created fantastic, lasting memories. The sunset views from here are amazing and the pool, with it's quirky little poolside bar is like a fantasy love story! Loved every second of my 5 night stay.

2nd time at this hotel ,great location if you want a relaxing holiday, private beach, and a small local street nearby with restaurants and shops.easy to get around by cab to Phuket or larger towns, food in the restaurants is lovely, rooms a good size, staff very friendly

Visited the Spa at Cape Panwa hotel a few times during our visit it was fabulous we left feeling very spoilt and floating on air. Will come back again for another wonderful 10days of relaxation. Family rooms great with large lounge area. Plenty of shade to relax at beautiful beach

Fantastic spa experience. I had some massages, a facial and Thai massage - simply sublime. Fell asleep on the table and snored. Such a good way to relax and definitely in good hands here at the Spa here. Thank you so much ladies for taking good care with me!
