A couple of downsides is that the food and drinks here are quite expensive (they’re pretty much Australia prices). And if you want to get food out of the hotel you need to get a boat off the island (which is free), and then a grab/taxi (which is not free). So if you want a budget friendly holiday this place is not it, so keep that in mind. Also we had issues with bugs getting into the room. Our rooms are peaceful getaways on an island paradise, so having bugs and animals around isn’t surprising but it was still annoying. We stayed for 8 nights in April 2025 as part of a large family group travelling over from various countries for a friends wedding. We had the best time! The rooms were great, we had a Luxe 2 bedroom Seaview Pool Villa. It was spacious and clean, the beds were really comfortable and the main bathroom was huge! We used the pool a few times but mainly swam in the resort pools when spending time with the family group. We had a mixture of adults and kids (10-17 years old) and had the all inclusive package which we would definitely recommend. There was something for everyone and we all came back needing to detox for a while!! The all inclusive was great value, even for the kids and I am glad we chose it as otherwise it would have cost us so much to eat and drink, so we didn't have to think about it once we were there and could just enjoy it. We also enjoyed some massages at the day spa which were so relaxing! I personally loved the resort, the island, and even the small beach area was much nicer than I had anticipated. Having spent a lot of time in Thailand many years ago, it was my first time in Phuket and I wasn't the biggest fan of Phuket itself. However staying at the resort on Coconut Island, with it's wonderful staff, pools, food, cocktails and so much more meant we had a holiday we'll never forget. We also left something behind and the managers were so helpful in getting it back to us (so thank you again for that!). Hard to write in a few words, but our family absolutely loved our week at Barcelo Coconut Island. We had the all inclusive package and stayed in a 2 bed private pool villa. The staff, food and entertainment were next level. If you want a relaxing and food focused break - this is the place to go.
Fantastic
