The hotel

The setting for this award-winning Thai hideaway is just about as tropical screen-saver as you can ever imagine; with limestone cliffs and palm trees juxtaposed against white sand and the warm blues of the Andaman Sea. Thanks to the location, adjacent to Krabi Marine National Park, you'll find no end of excuses to stroll and soak up the scenery with beautiful gardens, coconut groves and faraway islands helping to pleasure all of your senses. Rayavadee's award-winning architecture also pays homage to the surrounding environment and local culture with an arrangement of exceptional guest pavilions presenting an authentic and calming Thai village ambience. This resort is the best we stayed in during our visit to Thailand. We were debating between the Ritz reserve or Rayavadee- we are thrilled we picked Rayavadee. The resort oozes calmness and peace. The rooms, the service and the staff are all excellent. Breakfast was fantastic. The guest services team are always happy to help. We went on a bat cave tour and the person who took us really made this special. The information about the local wildlife and flora around the resort is a really nice added touch. The beaches are public however we never had any issues about being too busy. My only 1 complaint - There are certain guest that bring down the ambience of the resort. My wife and I planned to relax in the pool to watch the sunset. However the behaviour of other guest - constantly shouting, splashing around like children and general rudeness, made us leave the pool area. The staff already approached this group on 2 occasion however they still failed to listen. But I can appreciate the resort is unable to control all guest Apart from the above - we had a perfect relaxing stay. Read less

We just got back from 4 nights at Rayavadee Resort. It was AMAZING. The villas are beautifully appointed, have everything you need. I would wake up, make myself a coffee and sit out on the patio and walk the wildlife come to me. I had Monkeys and Monitors keep me company. The property is huge, they have a golf cart you can call to drive you to the restaurant you want to go to, or we also had fun walking home after meals and seeing the wildlife and beautiful property. June is low season for Jellyfish so we swam without any issues. I know that can be a problem at other times so check google before you book if you plan to swim in the sea. We did a cooking class which was amazing and 75 min massage - the best massage we’ve ever had. The menus at all the restaurants are broad, sometimes my daughter just wanted pizza. They have a lot of Indian food options, Chinese, Thai, Italian etc. The landscape is why I initially booked this resort over Four Seasons in Koh Samui. You can’t beat being surrounded by these limestone mountains, they are beyond magical. But also because it’s close to the Koh Phi Phi Islands, we had the MOST amazing day trip to see those insane beaches. Was totally worth it. Not easy to get to from the US, but we will be back. Our stay at Rayavadee was absolutely wonderful — truly one of the best experiences we've had, even during the rainy season. Everything from the journey, the warm welcome, and the incredibly kind and attentive staff in every department made our trip so memorable and full of smiles. We were surprised with a delicious birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture. The breakfast was impressive, with a wide variety of high-quality options to choose from. The Grotto restaurant was truly unique — a one-of-a-kind dining experience that shouldn't be missed. The swimming pool, with its stunning view, was another highlight of our stay. We’re already planning to return again when the skies are blue and the weather is perfect! :) Read less
