Chaba Cabana Beach Resort

Koh Samui, Thailand

Star rating

The hotel

In arguably the prettiest spot on Koh Samui, the Chaba Cabana Beach Resort is a bright and cheerful island escape on the soft white sands of Chaweng Beach – studded by palm trees. From rooms to reception, it’s been designed with a tropical tribal flavour. Cashing in on its beachfront spot, its pool stretches out towards the sands and its restaurant windows open up to reveal infinite views of the sea. But, if you can tear yourself from the vista, it also puts you just a walk from the shops, bars and restaurants of lively Chaweng itself, making it ideal for relaxation and recreation.

Pool is a little smaller than the pictures make out, however is lovely. Do not pay for own private villa and pool as this is right by the main pool and not very private at all. We stayed in villa 211 and it was perfect, seconds from everything. Beach is lovely but too shallow to swim in, so you need to walk along the front but worth it. We paid to do a few trips from the rep at the resort. Fisherman’s village is the place to be in the evening but can cost around £25 in total to do both ways. Definitely worth staying here for the views, staff and food. Very chilled place to be and if you didn’t want to move from the resort, you would have everything you need. Now we never watch tv when away, however when having a chill in the aircon, it was a nice touch that you had Netflix to pass the time away a little or at the end of the evening to chill. Read less

The staff are amazing, the views are also amazing. Room was spacious, fresh and clean. S the manager is a fantastic man. But all the staff are so friendly and helpful. The staff couldn't do enough for you, even the gardener. Highly Recommend xx Tina Johnson and Simon Johnson

The Chaba Cabana is a good basic resort. Check in was a breeze. The staff are very friendly. We were only given one key, which was needed to activate the electricity. This meant the room could smell a little when empty for a while. We also didn’t like how thin the walls are and the lack of privacy on the balconies. The room was cleaned to a high… Read more

This meant the room could smell a little when empty for a while. We also didn’t like how thin the walls are and the lack of privacy on the balconies. The room was cleaned to a high standard though and spacious enough. Breakfast was basic but good with an egg station. The hotel is located just around the corner from the airport and perhaps a 20 minute walk from the main town. As we’d come for Songkran this was a little too far out so we did stay at another hotel for the Saturday and Sunday night. Our view was that this was a great hotel for families or groups. There appeared to be lots of regular customers and/or longer stay customers who knew each other. Read less

I went for a deluxe villa & the room was immaculate, clean & fresh with a wonderful porch to sit on in the evenings. There was a welcome message on the bed written in flower petals which I thought was a nice touch. Now if you are after a big soulless hotel with a thousand rooms, then this place is not for you. It is a small hotel with a lovely pool area & a great view of the sea. There is an area where you can get a great (and very reasonably priced massage) while looking out at the sea. It is close enough to the busy area of Chaweng that you can walk it in 20-30 minutes but far enough away that it is not at all noisy. The breakfast was good, the pizza was decent & the local Thai dishes were excellent. However, the best thing about this place was the staff, they are all so nice & friendly. I rarely visit the same country twice let alone the same hotel but I enjoyed my stay so much that I have already booked to stay again next March! Read less

Loved this place, the staff are so beautiful and kind. Breakfast was lovely and the room service was quite good. The rooms were very clean and smelled amazing. The resort is beautiful and the water view is lovely. The in house massage services are value for money and excellent. I experienced a very noisy neighbour and asked to change rooms as they were very disruptive. They were laughing and partying very loudly all day and night and slammed the door every time they came in and out of the room. The staff moved me to another room, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I think the only area they could improve is having some better installation between rooms to reduce noise. Would stay again and highly recommended. Read less
