The room was cozy and elegantly decorated. We greatly appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel's beach and swimming pool. The staff in the breakfast area were exceptional, always welcoming us with warm smiles each morning and the food was excellent.

Amazing stay , we hope that we can return back for the next trips..

This was our fifth visit to Anantara Lawana and once again it did not disappoint on the overall experience. First lets get the little moans out the way, I am only being hyper critical as I seriously love the staff at this hotel and I feel its important the place keeps up in standards. The hotel sits in the most beautiful setting whereas the style of the accommodation and the beach setting make it most dreamlike, my slight moan is that the rooms them selves albeit extremely clean are needing some TLC inside and out as they still look the same from over ten years ago. Getting a bit worn here and there and its not cheap to stay here so has to look its best. Saying that a good decorating and new fixture fitting inside and out wouldn't go amiss. I was hoping to bring that up with the manager but in the ten nights we were there I never came across him albeit I was told he wanted to meet us as returners over the years, maybe next time? Now for the experience, It was great to see the new Cay restaurant, simply beautiful with lovely traditional Thai food to eat, we went twice and it did not disappoint. The newly renovated Ocean Kiss restaurant is a great place for Thai or International cuisine, the food here is superb, whether your on the many choices of breakfast, lunch or evening meal, nobody could say there was not something for them, the food is impeccable. Crab Shack/ Sandals Bar for lunch is a must, we went four times for ice cold Asahi beer, Prawn Tacos and Gambas Allioli, best prawns in the world, large succulent and expertly cooked. If your feeling flush and are celebrating go to Tree Tops, fantastic cocktail at Singing Bird lounge to wet your appetite then tuck into the 8 courser, we did the meat and fish one, outstanding food presented like something out of Masterchef. Now last but not least. A huge thank you for making my big birthday holiday one fantastic experience I will never forget. Joy from reception for looking after us from check in to check out, we will never forget what you did for us over our stay. Torn and Sorn from the beach, these guys are so damn nice, they have been there for years, they keep you right all holiday, we loved our little chats with these two. Irene, Ocean Kiss breakfast, what a darling, her smile and greeting every morning at breakfast is a real joy to be had, I have kept your little letter on our last day and will do forever, Irene is a credit to this hotel and her team and to mention a few names Goff, Muna, Ree, Muna and Sky are so very charming and nice, we miss these guys. Didn't get the names of the Crab Shack Man and lady chefs but them two served up some great food on our holiday, think we ate all the prawns. In regards to Sandals bar, big shout out to M and Emma, M has been there for years and his wit is great, a very nice guy, and the new girl Emma, she's a star going to go far, very professional, knowledgeable and funny. If I could mention every staff member from gardeners to cleaners I would as they all work so hard to make this place beautiful and to run like clockwork. Read less

Lovely romantic getaway

Great property and wonderful service. It’s a little bit removed from the area with dining and shops (AU$12-$15 one way taxi ride to Chaweng area). It’s great for a couples getaway if you don’t plan to leave after check in or if you have tours booked everyday.
