We had excellent accommodations with ocean views. The staff was friendly, the rooms were immaculate. We enjoyed our mornings and evenings sitting on our balcony enjoying the view. We had a great time in the lazy River and enjoyed the swim up bar.

I'll start by saying that I believe strongly in honest and balanced reviews. With that said, I'll provide a detailed summary of the pros and cons of this resort, especially if you're traveling with family and kids. You'll notice that this resort has struggled to break above a 4٫0 review. There are a few reasons why. Let's start with the pros. The food quality and selections are great. From local Jamaican food to international cuisine, there's always a great selection of food to choose from at just about all the restaurants, even for the kids. Unfortunatelty, the bad service overshadows the food but I'll get to that later. There is also a variety of family activities, including bowling, virtual reality (for an extra fee which is pretty expensive), and engaging shows. The resort is also very walkable and within close driving distance to both Montego Bay and Ochos Rios if you rent a car. Now, on to the bad. The service is terrible! For starters, we waited 30 minutes standing in line in the lobby to check in with hungry, tired kids. With the exception of the Blue Team, which primarily serve in an entertainment capacity, the overwhelming majority of staff were rude and seemingly never wanted to be bothered with even the simplest of requests. I'm not talking about elaborate requests for dinner arrangements or special occassions, I'm referring to requests for room service because no one bothered to clean our room or replace towels one day. I even had a pool towel attendant give me a hard time about towels because I forgot my pool card in my room. I also experienced going to the pool one day where they were completely out of towels. The servers at the restaurants are very cold and rarely greet any of their guests. I had to walk into a restaurant and asked to be seated at one of the restaurants. There is little to no effort to make guests feel truly welcome. It almost felt as though serving guests was an inconvenience to them. You'll also be followed around for a few days by staff trying to sell you on a presentation about H10 hotels which I found to be a bit intrusive. None of the water features at the lazy river or waterpark were working for a couple of days, which was disappointing for our youngest son. When I inquired about this issue with some of the staff, some of them said they weren't aware, some even tried to convince me it was because I was at the waterpark after hours (which wasn't the case), and some were honest in saying there was an issue with one of the water pipes. Also, the pools close at 6 pm, so don't plan on getting in that last minute swim after dinner. The beach is almost nonexistent...it's more like a spread of seaweed with puddles of blue water, unless you upgrade to what they call "privelege", which is a private section of the beach with less seaweed. Now on to the 'ugly'. After realizing our room hadn't been serviced during one of the days of our stay, I decided to tidy up myself and found that the inside of my pillow was filled with mildew. I immediately brought it to management's attention. To their credit, they sent someone to do a deep clean that same day, apologized, and even offered a massage and dinner. However, we respectfully declined because a massage and dinner was not compensation enough for having slept on a pillow filled with mildew and struggling with sinuses for multiple nights (I actually thought it was a something in the air before I discovered the pillow). Management invited us to return at a discounted rate, but I have no desire to pay any amount of money to return to this specific property. If you are accustomed to staying with brands like Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, or Sandals, you might want to stick to those brands. This was my first time trying a H10 hotel. Regrettably, it was one of my worst experiences at any resort. In fact, this is my first negative review of any resort I've ever stayed in. I can't speak to the H10 brand overall, but the experience at this particular resort was a disappointment. I will also note that the overall culture of lack of attention to customer experience is incredibly unfair to the few staff who actually make an effort to display exemplary service. I believe that this would certainly help this hotel exceed its 4٫0 average review. If you're curious about where the missing star is, it's the service. Read less

The resort is nice. However the beach is HORRIBLE. They want you to upgrade to Eden Bay upon arrival & the front desk doesn’t tell you that you have access to that beach, but not the seating area. The resort is nice. However the beach is HORRIBLE. They want you to upgrade to Eden Bay upon arrival & the front desk doesn’t tell you that you have access to that beach, but not the seating area. I only learned that I can go over there from an employee. You have to stay in the loungers to the left of the rope (Privilege area), behind the hammock that’s in the water. I wouldn’t stay here again. You have to ask for condiments. They don’t leave them on the table. The waiter pours your creamer in your coffee which I would prefer to do myself. Read less
