While the property itself has potential, the service falls far short of what one would expect from a 5-star hotel. Upon arrival, our room was noticeably unclean — with hair on the floors, in the bathroom, and in the shower area, presumably from the previous guest. Dust had also accumulated in the corners of the room. Despite requesting a thorough cleaning, the room remained dirty even after housekeeping’s visit the following day. To make matters worse, the room wasn’t cleaned at all for the next two days. After repeated requests, housekeeping finally returned on the fifth day of our stay — only for my mother to end up cleaning the room herself due to the poor standard of work. The shower area in particular was neglected and only cleaned after I insisted. Towels, hand towels, and other basic necessities were inconsistently replenished. We had to keep asking for replacements throughout our stay. Customer service, overall, was very disappointing. Staff often appeared indifferent, with no sense of urgency or empathy. Requests were frequently ignored or forgotten, and the general attitude was dismissive. There were also several fire alarm incidents — three during our stay — all in the early hours of the morning. No apologies or proper explanations were offered. I requested a complimentary late checkout due to the disruptions, but this was never communicated to the day staff. As a result, we were locked out of our room and asked for payment at checkout, which was frustrating and unprofessional. The one highlight of our stay was the food. The chefs did an excellent job offering a wide variety of well-prepared dishes. However, the bar service was slow — drinks often arrived after we had already finished our meals. This hotel lacks the attention to detail and level of service that define a true 5-star experience. The property is also relatively isolated, so I would recommend renting a car instead of relying on expensive taxis, many of which quote prices in USD rather than the local BBD currency — something I found unusual and inconvenient. If this had been my first visit to Barbados, I might not be inclined to return based on this experience. For the price point, the hotel simply doesn’t deliver. On a future visit, I would likely opt for a well-rated Airbnb instead. Read less

One of the biggest highlights was the food — flavorful, fresh, and lots of variety throughout the week. The entertainment and daily activities were fun without being overwhelming, and the vibe around the resort was chill but never boring. A special thank you to the butler team, especially Rachad, who was attentive, helpful, and made things feel smooth from start to finish. Would recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable all-inclusive stay with a nice mix of relaxation, food, and island hospitality. Read less

Shanice at the omelet station went above and beyond each morning, preparing breakfast with love and greeting us with her signature: “You are most welcome.” Her warmth and presence were unforgettable, and on the days she wasn’t there, it was noticeably different. Shanice made my stay deeply personal and memorable. She is the definition of excellence in hospitality, and more than deserving of recognition. Thank you, Wyndham Grand, for this experience. I recently stayed at this resort for my first trip to Barbados and was excited to experience a new property. The grounds are beautiful, and there were plenty of pools to enjoy. However, I was a bit disappointed to find that the swim-up bar was not in service. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression. That said, the resort is quite remote—most places I visited were at least a 30-minute drive away. Because of the location, I expected more robust entertainment and activities on-site, which felt a bit lacking. The food was good overall. I really enjoyed the buffet, the grill, and Castleview restaurant. However, dining options are limited later in the evening. After a certain time, only the grab-and-go spot is open (serving sandwiches and light fare), and room service is available with a $25 delivery fee. One downside for me was the additional charges—particularly the high fee for adding a guest—which felt steep given the limited amenities and services. All in all, it was a nice visit and a beautiful introduction to Barbados, but at nearly $700 per night, I expected more value for the price. Read less

My family and I recently stayed at Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord's Castle for 5 days. The resort is beautiful and modern. The views are breathtaking! The service overall was good. Tanya at the front desk provided us with exceptional customer service. She assisted us on 2 different occasions. Both times she was helpful, friendly and professional. Others on the front line could use some training when it comes to giving guests a quality customer service experience. The service in the restaurants were acceptable. One particular server went above and beyond when attending to us. She was very kind and welcoming. Unfortunately I can't remember her name. The food was surprisingly delicious especially for an all-inclusive. We ate at the mediterranean buffet, the grill and the steak house. My family members are extremely picky individually but they were all pleased with the selection of food. The drinks were refreshing, particularly the pina coladas, specialty cocktails and the sparkling waters. The entertainment was phenomenal. We enjoyed the various forms of live music. The music at the pool was a vibe. The room was spacious and inviting. The bed was very comfortable. The balcony with the ocean views were beautiful. All in all, we had a great time at Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord's Castle. The resort caters to a range of age groups (ours consisted of ages 8 - 70+). We plan on staying here next year and would definitely recommend to others. Read less
