Coconut Court Beach Hotel

The hotel

About as ‘seaside’ as you can get, the Blades family have called this sand-hugging spot home for more than four decades. And they chose a pretty perfect beach for their hotel — which is probably why hundreds of Hawksbill marine turtles call it home too. As you’re here for the beach, the Blades have made sure you’re never far from it, whether you’re lazing on the free loungers, watching moonlight movies on the sands, soaking in the seafront pool and whirlpool, sipping frozen cocktails at the beach bar, or lingering over candlelit suppers at Coco's. The beach itself is lined with beautiful trees to provide natural shelter from the Caribbean rays, so those that don't wish to worship the sun need not worry. It’s not just by the beach though — it’s also steps from South Coast Boardwalk which links you to an array of shops, restaurants and Rockley Beach. The hotel also features an open air restaurant overlooking the white sand beach. Above all else, do not forget to savour a Pirate Punch during one of the several 'happy hours' each day — a traditional Blades family recipe with a twist!

We only had the option of the apartments on the other side of the road, it was only offer on site but it looked cool. Hotel staff are nice, beach is covered with seaweed. I found food and beverages expensive. Place is spotless, only major issue i have is, windows are timber slats, no glass, not sealed. I get the whole Caribbean vibe but please, invest in mosquitoe nets for your beds, we were eaten alive by them at night. Complained twice , nothing done but in fairness if no nets, what could they do Would I stay here again? Afraid not but it was great value, just over £100 a night Great restaurants nearby Read less

I stayed at Coconut Court Beach Hotel from May 24–28 while visiting Barbados for my grandfather’s funeral. The property is clean, and the front desk staff—especially Margot and manager Maria—were professional and polite throughout my stay. That said, I was disappointed with a key hotel policy. One evening, my local family stopped by briefly to say hello before dinner. Since I live abroad, these moments mean a lot. However, hotel security would not let them come to my room and directed me to check in with the front desk. Once there, I was told that no outside guests are allowed in guest rooms under any circumstances, even for a few minutes. I had to meet them in the common area instead. This is not an all-inclusive resort, so I found the policy overly strict and inflexible. While I respect rules and appreciated the staff’s courtesy, this restriction took away from my comfort during an emotional trip. Also worth noting for future travelers: • The resort caters more to an older, retired crowd, so younger or more social visitors may find the atmosphere a bit slow-paced. • The beach has a lot of stones, making it difficult to comfortably walk or swim without possibly hurting your feet. Definitely bring water shoes. Overall, I appreciate the hospitality of the staff, but would caution future guests about the beach conditions and restrictive visitor policy. Read less

We've just returned from are 3rd visit to this hotel , it's clean and tidy , it's on the beach and for us it ticks all the BOXES. We are going back later in the year for another 3 week stay . The staff are great too. It's in a nice part of barbados , the bus stops are outside and a nice place to call home for a few weeks.

(The breakfast plan is a great value -- worth doing.) The beach adjacent to the hotel is spectacular. All staff were very friendly and helpful; one of them pointed out our rental car had a tire that looked underinflated, and told us where to get it pumped up nearby. And the weekly Monday night rum punch party by the pool is a must! We got to chat with a member of the family who owns the hotel (Hi Lawrence!), and the head of security (Hi Hadfield!), whose company you'll enjoy again if you spend any time on the beach. Bridgetown is a short drive away, so is St. Lawrence Gap. A few restaurants are a relatively short walk away. There's really nothing not to like here; would absolutely stay here again if I am lucky enough to get back to Barbados! Read less
