I have always said that this could be one of the best stay and play communities in the world and Apes has delivered. The quality of accommodations, staff and golf is first class. Mix that with an Island with perfect weather, beaches, food and people. Makes for the perfect recipe for an extended holiday

Just fantastic, loved the resort and golf course and everyone working there was just so accommodating. We hired a private chef for 1 night and that was an amazing experience. We are already planning to return next year. Thank you again for an unbelievable week

The villa was very comfortable and incredibly private. Loved the golf course, including the new nine hole course and the staff and service were universally excellent, The new paddle courts are a great addition to the activities on the resort and the new beach club is going to be great.

We just returned from a one-week trip to Apes Hill and were very impressed with the resort. We were two couples and we stayed in a new 3-bedroom villa. The villas are beautifully appointed with a well-equipped kitchen, large bedrooms with ensuites, and an expansive outdoor patio with infinity pool. The bedrooms are air conditioned but not the common areas (i.e. kitchen, living room, hallways), which is common in Barbados. This wasn't too serious as we opened the doors to let the breeze in, which made it quite comfortable. We had our own 4-seater golf cart, which we used to drive back and forth from our villa to the golf course. We played the golf course 3 times and were incredibly impressed. The conditioning of the course is as good as you'll find in the Caribbean and the layout is jaw-dropping. It's also a fun and challenging course at the same time. We also played one round at Royal Westmoreland (which was a special experience) as well as one round at Sandy Lane (the Country Club course). The service at Apes Hill from Guest Services was extraordinary. Latoniya could not have been more helpful, from planning the trip months in advance to the day of our arrival. She arranged to have an assortment of groceries delivered to our villa when we arrived in order to tie us over for breakfast our first morning. She also took care of our restaurant reservations and ensured we had an oceanfront table for each of our 7 dinners. We were never disappointed with our choice of restaurants and now understand why Barbados is regarded as the culinary capital of the Caribbean. Highlights were The Tides, QP Bistro, and Paul Owens. The only challenge in staying at Apes Hill is the cost of taxis to and from restaurants. We found taxi fares were exorbitant (US$40 for a 10 minute ride) and it was hard to understand how the fare structure worked. It would be better if guests were able to buy a number of vouchers with one taxi provider and receive a discount. For example, one could buy a dozen vouchers at a discount for 10-15 minute trips. Restaurants are also prohibitive but, as mentioned previously, the quality was outstanding. All in all, Apes Hill must be regarded as one of the finest resorts in the Caribbean. Although there is a fair bit of construction still going on (i.e. new ocean view villas), it did not negatively affect the enjoyment of our stay. We will be back! Read less

Great place to stay with family, but a few things to consider. Villa is great -we stayed in 3 bedroom and it was perfect for 5 people-nice to have your own small pool and kitchen. Great place to stay with family, but a few things to consider. Villa is great -we stayed in 3 bedroom and it was perfect for 5 people-nice to have your own small pool and kitchen. If you like golf, padel (8 courts!) and tennis this is also a great place. Golf course is fun and very scenic. Was not crowded at all. The service and concierge are amazing-really responsive and helpful. The main thing to consider is the resort is fairly remote-so a taxi or rental car is needed to go out to dinner or explore. Our two favourite restaurants were Tides and La Cabane. Avoid Bridgetown-really nothing to do/see. If you want shopping go to Holetown. The resort has a decent restaurant for 1 night and breakfast/lunch at resort is good. If you want to go to beach the resort will take you in a shuttle to either Fairmount or 111 east. We preferred 111 east. Read less
