The Royal at Atlantis

Nassau, Bahamas

Star rating

The hotel

Throwing you into the full Atlantis experience, The Royal is as legendary as the myths that inspired and infuse them. The architecture, the artwork, the adventures — each have a cheeky nod to the Lost City of Atlantis, but the well-dressed rooms and suites are a little less kitsch, coming with French or full balconies and views over the terraces, water, or harbour. Their spot on Atlantis Paradise Island puts you right by Atlantis Casino and at the heart of the world’s largest outdoor ‘marine habitat’ — with 14 lagoons and more than 50000 aquatic residents, from sharks to barracuda. The island’s other fabled fun’s yours for the taking too, whether its experiencing rides or slides at the 141-acre Aquaventure waterscape; snorkelling the ‘ruins’ at Atlantis; or kicking back at one of its 21 restaurants and 19 bars.

He was shouting the personnel in the pool (but not given solutions) and the guests too (people who was only trying to get a tube faster than the service was able to do). If any infraction commited by the guests not enough argument to shout them improperly. Remember that guests pay all the resort staff salaries. Read less

The hotel was great except for the check in process needs to be address. Also, food is very expensive, I think they should look for something for families that are a little more affordable.

Excursions and extras are probably double what you would pay at another resort. Atlantis is definitely worth a trip! But make you budget ahead for all the extras. Read less

Our stay at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas was a mixed experience. On the positive side, we had fun and the property was undeniably impressive. The staff at the upscale restaurants were amazing, providing excellent service. We also appreciated the attentive lifeguards who ensured safety around the water areas. However, there were some significant disappointments. The majority of the staff, outside of those mentioned above, were lackluster in their service and attentiveness. This was particularly evident in their handling of our request to apply the California (30%) resident discount to our reservation. Despite my sister successfully receiving this discount for her stay during the same period, the resort refused to extend the same courtesy to us. Their communication was frustrating, with different staff members providing conflicting information. We were given the runaround, with the front desk telling us to call corporate, corporate directing us back to the front desk, and then the front desk instructing us to email corporate. This circular communication was both time-consuming and exasperating. The reservations team's inflexibility in applying the discount to an ongoing stay, even when the oversight was brought to their attention, was especially disappointing. Ironically, the California resident promotion exists to attract customers from California, but their handling of our situation achieved the opposite effect. As Californians, we're now less likely to recommend Atlantis to our friends and family back home. It's a shame that a promotion designed to build goodwill has instead left us feeling frustrated and undervalued as guests. This inconsistency in applying promotions, the lack of willingness to resolve the issue, and the confusing communication between different departments left a sour taste and negatively impacted our overall experience. While the resort itself is beautiful and offers many amenities, the customer service, particularly in addressing booking concerns, needs significant improvement. In summary, while Atlantis offers an impressive setting and some excellent staff members, the inconsistent service, inflexible policies, and poor interdepartmental communication detract from what could otherwise be an exceptional experience. Potential guests, especially those expecting to use specific promotions, should be very careful when booking and confirm all details in advance. Read less
