Beautiful resort and our rooms were clean and comfortable meeting the expectations. Lots to do and see on property and needless to say that the kids loved it. The thing that is just insane and always in your face is the prices of everything. When you're in Paradise Island you really do not have much choice and the prices of everything is just beyond reasonable. Don't get me wrong, I'm from Vegas and my city invented the concept but when you go to the beach and paying $32 for a bucket that you find in a 99c store or that every dining 'experience' (all were below average) you are ending up spending north of $60 per person including kids and not including wine/cocktails is crazy! they are adding 15% tip to everything but making is very obscure and none of the stuff will ever remind you that gratuity is already included. Dolphin Cay was the same - very expensive and very short @ $300 per person for 30 minutes and then they are obviously ripping you off on photos and who could say no... This place is almost running on a 1:1 ratio - for every dollar you spent on the room, you'll match it with other services. If i'll ever go back I will bring as much as possible with me and indeed go food shopping in town on or before arrival (we stayed at the Reef that had a full kitchen). I have no problem over paying for things in resorts and on an island but Atlantis cross the line from high margins to ripping guests off. Read less

The Reef at Atlantis is absolutely stunning — the ocean views, beautifully maintained hotel, and variety of pools (especially the Rapids River) made for an unforgettable trip. We had great experiences at several restaurants, and room service was prompt and delicious. The $800 resort credit we received easily covered our food and drinks during the stay. That said, a few areas could use improvement. We had hoped to use part of our resort credit for a dolphin excursion, but the phones were down and hotel reception told us we had to go in person to book it. Unfortunately, that inconvenience meant we missed out. Also, guests should be aware that resort credits don’t cover VAT or tips, so you’ll always pay something out of pocket. While we expected higher prices at a resort like this, the checkout process at food spots was often unclear — no totals were given before finalizing, and although tips were already included, the payment systems still prompted for an additional tip. It took a few purchases before we realized we were double tipping. That lack of transparency felt a bit off. Still, the overall experience was relaxing and beautiful, and we’re glad we went — just a few things to keep in mind for future travelers. Read less

I’ll admit, marketing had me hooked. All those glossy ads and celebrity TV spots paint Atlantis as the ultimate Bahamian dream. Stepping onto the property, the first impression is “wow” — sprawling towers, aquariums everywhere, that iconic water‑park skyline. Unfortunately, the wow ends there. Unfriendly staff: From check‑in to dining, most interactions felt rushed or indifferent. Polite smiles were rare, genuine hospitality rarer. For a resort that bills itself as luxury, the service fell flat. Broken shuttle system: Atlantis is massive, so you need those shuttles. Ours never showed on schedule (if at all), which meant hoofing it long distances in the heat. Not fun with kids or luggage. Sticker shock everywhere: Room rates are high, but the up‑charges hit even harder—$10+ for a small coffee, resort fees stacked on top of taxes, and activities priced like they’re made of gold doubloons. Plenty of neighboring resorts offer better value and friendlier service. A day pass is plenty: The Aquaventure water park is fantastic, but you can buy a day pass and enjoy the slides without enduring an overnight stay. After one day, we’d had our fill. Atlantis is a great commercial for itself, but the reality doesn’t match the hype. Save your budget—and your patience—for a resort that actually treats guests like guests. Read less
