The hotel

Situated on Antigua’s unspoilt south coast, this natural harbour, defined by a fine crescent of sand, is straight out of a Caribbean press release. Nestling on the magnificent undeveloped south coast of Antigua — set in a sweeping bay on a ravishing beach with a backdrop of rolling hills and lush tropical rainforest. Transfer time from Antigua Airport: 30 minutes.

Hotel information

87 spacious, contemporary suites. Cool, calm, luxurious interiors, each with a private balcony or terrace and breath-taking sea views. All suites include complimentary refillable water bottles, ESPA amenities, hairdryer, bathrobes, espresso machine and a fully-stocked minibar*. 

Garden Suites are spacious open-planned suites with a large bathroom, steps down to a separate living area and terrace or balcony with tropical garden or partial sea views, with 1 king-size bed sleeping maximum 3 adults, or 2 adults and 1 child.

All Inclusive option: includes full breakfast, three-course lunch at Indigo on the Beach, The Jetty Grill (adults only) or at the restaurant by the pool, Ottimo!, daily afternoon tea, 3-course dinner from the à la carte menu at Indigo on the Beach, The Jetty Grill (adults only), Ottimo! pan-Asian restaurant, East. Drinks including all cocktails, spirits, house wine, beers and soft drinks. Premium spirits and bottles of wine are excluded from the fully inclusive rates and may be purchased at an additional charge.


Half Board option: includes 3-course dinner and coffee selected from the à la carte menus at Indigo on the Beach, East, Ottimo! and the Jetty grill (adults only). Does not include beverages.

Ocean Suites have a balcony with views over the gardens to the ocean, with 1 king-size bed sleeping maximum 3 adults. 

Beach Balcony Suites have beach views, master bedroom with 1 king-size bed, and second bedroom with 2 single beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. 

Bay Suites are oceanfront, adult-only suites featuring a four-poster king-sized bed, private butler and a beachside location, sleeping maximum 2 adults. 

Beach Terrace Suites are located with direct access onto the beach and unrivalled sea views. All Beach Terrace Suites have a spacious open-plan layout, 1 king-size bed with living area plus an additional second bedroom with 2 single beds. Sleeps maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Carlisle Suites have large sitting area which extends onto an outdoor terrace, 3 en-suite bedrooms and can sleep maximum 6 persons with a central waterfront location. Carlisle Suites come with a kitchenette, and either large terrace or wrap around balcony with uninterrupted panoramic views.

4 restaurants: Indigo on the Beach serving grills and healthy salads in an informal setting, Pan-Asian cuisine at East. Poolside Ottimo! serves classic Italian fare from a wood-burning oven and the adults-only Jetty Grill serves fresh Caribbean seafood and meats overlooking the resort’s Jetty and Caribbean Sea.

Swimming pool. CARA Organic Beauty Spa* offers a full and comprehensive spa menu. Yoga and Pilates classes* available in the Garden Pavilion or on The Jetty at sunset (the first class is complimentary). 5 tennis courts with professional tuition upon request* and Pickleball courts. PADI dive school*, complimentary non-motorised water sports including snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing, paddleboarding and Hobie cats. Boat excursions*. Fitness centre. Screening room with movie nights. Creche*. Cool Kids Club with its own paddling pool, sand pit and jungle gym (2-6 years). Crew Blue activity programme for children 7-12 years, including raft building, five-a-side football, zip-wiring and star fish hunting (during school holidays).

Great location/beach. May is coming to the end of the season so it was very very quiet. Plenty of car parking space and two places to eat. One at either end of the beach. Not much else around in the ways of public amenities and no water sports but the beach makes up for that. Nice in a way not to have water sports going on around you

Another fabulous 10 days at Carlisle Bay. Agreed a few areas need refreshing but the genuine kindness and helpfulness of the staff makes up for any minor infrastructure shortcomings. Also, the food in all restaurants was always promptly served and delicious. The beach is gorgeous. Looking forward to returning.

We had such a wonderful time at Carlisle Bay. It really was the perfect family holiday for us. We were incredibly lucky to be on a room on the beach with was perfect for us with our little boy, as well as being very near the beach and some of the restaurants - it meant it was seamless for us to travel around the hotel easily and quickly nip to the pool or the beach. The beach itself is absolutely stunning and one of the best that we have stayed or been on. One of the greatest attributes of the hotel. The pool is perfect for kids and adults too - never did I think I would appreciate a shelf in a pool so much! Restaurants were great, and the half board in particular was well worth doing. We particularly loved East and Jetty experiences. We did a few of the planned activities which were well worth doing - tennis lesson, group hike as well as the pilates. Special mention to some of the staff too who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless - particularly Leanne at breakfast. Some things do seem overpriced and expensive - drinking, the gift shop, food if we were not on half board etc. particularly with the American tax and service addition. However, overall, we had the most wonderful stay and would love to return one day. Read less

Carlisle Bay is a dream. The people are so genuinely kind and we had the best service the entire time we were there. We traveled with our toddler and stayed in a beach terrace room which made potty breaks, naps, snacks, etc super easy. No need to pack a bag or lug things back and forth - just open the door and go. Most times it felt like we were on a private island. We never had to battle for chairs at the beach or pool and there were plenty of beach toys and boogie boards for all the kids to enjoy. The ocean rafts were an huge hit with the toddler and adults alike and again were always available. Everything at the resort was just a quick walk away which added to the ease and convenience. We did some of the included water sports and played some tennis while we were there and again it was all so easy. No lines or hassle. We are picky about food but enjoyed every meal. We didn’t utilize beach service until halfway through our trip and I wish we would’ve done it sooner because everyone was so attentive and quick. We cannot wait to return. Read less

Absolutely wonderful, relaxing and fun family trip at Carlisle Bay. Our room was literally on the beach, with a large balcony and amazing view. The beach was immaculate and calm. Never felt crowded, and always lounge chairs available. Free water sports available and quick and easy to take out SUPs, kayaks, sailboats. Great 7 min boat ride to the reef for snorkeling ($50pp). The beach and pool were both perfect for our kids (age 7 & 1). As others have mentioned, the property is in need of some updating, but that is currently underway. While our room was not yet updated, we did get to view an updated room and it was lovely. Breakfast at Indigo and dinner at Jebby's were our favorite. Food was great at these meals but most of all, the service was incredible. The nightly live music was a great touch as well- excellent talent. The hotel really stands out with its service. I have never stayed at a hotel in which my name (and my kid's names) were used in every interaction. It was as if we'd been friends for years. This service is what would bring me back to this particular property again and again. I'd specifically like to recognize Ganga, Myrleen, Adicia, Leanne, Darleen and the manager at Jebby's.
