Hotel nice otherwise but needs updating but not sure if they are going for rustic look. Open courtyard in the middle of rooms, nice look. Plenty of bars and restuarants around. I would give it 3 stars but downgrade to 2٫5 stars due to mould. Read less

We have returned feeling completely restored after our stay at AYC marina resort. Brilliant welcome from all the reception staff, I was concerned by the incline of the resort but we were promised accessible rooms on the first floor overlooking the marina and room 3 was exactly that. This is not five star luxury but it is a relaxed laid back atmosphere which makes holidaying here a great experience. The room was spacious, good air conditioning, a large fridge and a decent sized balcony, my gripe would be our room had very little cupboard space and the pillows were too hard for our taste. Yes, the rooms are not the most modern but the room was cleaned to a high standard every day, The beach towels were not rationed unlike some resorts which insist on restricting the number each day. We found it fascinating to watch the yachts arriving and returning each day from our balcony the vista was always changing . Yes, it can be a little noisy at weekends but people are enjoying themselves and having fun, it’s not intimidating and I suggest if you can’t sleep go and join the party! I promise you will enjoy the live music. Go early to Shirley heights to ensure the walk uphill isn’t too tedious. Good food is readily available in the marina complex with several restaurants and bars operating and several more in the vicinity, within walking distance. Our favourite was Indian Summer overlooking the water, the staff were superb! We hired a car for the duration and was recommended to use Bigs rentals by the hotel, we were collected effortlessly from the airport and ferried back to the airport on our return. Having our own transport gave us the freedom to revisit some of our favourite beaches and discover ones we hadn’t been to before , note a word of caution the roads are dreadfully potholed therefore I would recommend hiring a 4x4. Experience the vibe and let the Antiguan warmth envelop you You could choose a five star all inclusive resort and sit around a pool for two weeks or you can embrace Antigua, it’s beaches, it’s people and we believe AYC marina showcases Antigua at its best.. Room 8 is located directly next to a stairwell to a staff/service area with some sort of generator. It is also directly on the street with views of the carpark. The final problem with this room is that a staff/cleaning cupboard is opposite with a squeaky mechanism & it slams shut everyone someone uses it. There is also alot of noise echoing down the corridor from reception. The bathroom is tired, needs refurbishing. We got very little sleep & paid $292. Spoke to staff & to duty manager Kerry who empathised but no action was taken to address our situation or compensate us. Such a shame as our previous suite room 47 was in a lovely location & although the bathroom was very tired & tatty we had a completely different experience. Avoid any if the ground floor rooms, they are overpriced & very noisy ! Read less

We visited Antigua and stayed in Room 12 at the Antigua Yacht Club - it was absolutely wonderful - room was spacious, clean and had the most amazing views, overlooking the harbour, fabulous for super yacht watching. Yes, it could be quite noisy on occasion as the establishment is in close proximity to a few local bars and restaurants, however we found this great as we were able to both people watch and enjoy music while Sat on our balcony, once we returned from an evening out. We barely heard anything once we retired and closed the balcony doors. The hotel has an amazingly beautiful central courtyard with lots of lush greenery that is clearly lovingly maintained. We dined at Trappers - along the road and turn right, where the food was amazing and very reasonably priced. We also dined at a Mexican styled restaurant, where again the food was lovely and must also mention the lovely pizza at the pizza restaurant. We walked to the local Pigeon point beach, which was beautiful, however we found our favorite spot to be under a palm tree on the stunning Galleon Beach. We hired a car from Titi-rent-a-car to go out and about to see the island, taking in StJohns including a little shopping at Herritage Quay (cheaper than the airport) nabbing a gorgeous Guess tote bag and various other spoils. A trip to Shirley Heights was an absolute must, we went twice, once late afternoon to explore and took some amazing photos and then again for the Sunday night Steel band, which again was fabulous and although busy was a wonderful experience. Overall, we can't wait to return and hoping to book room 12 again. Read less

I really loved the sea view room it was so lovely sitting outside and seeing the boats. I thought the studios were a good size and very clean. The resort has a lovely feel to it. The beach is super close and the area is great - so many lovely bars and restaurants. If I came to Antigua again I would stay here. The only reason I have not given a five star is that the noise can be loud at the resort because it is a party area however this was only loud at the weekend and did not affect our holiday too much. However it is such a fun place to stay and is super special. Thank you for the staff at the resort for making our stay so memorable. Read less
