This 4-star deluxe luxury landmark hotel, the oldest hotel in South Africa located in the heart of the university town of Stellenbosch, sets the tone for your Winelands discovery. Where is it

Situated right in the centre of the historic university town of Stellenbosch, only 45 km from Cape Town, 20 km from the sea and surrounded by beautiful mountains and vineyards. Stellenbosch is famous as the premier wine region of South Africa. Transfer time from Cape Town Airport: 35 minutes.

58 rooms in 5 buildings. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, tea/coffee maker, safe and hairdryer. Comfy Rooms are contemporary in style and are located on all 3 floors and overlook the shady central garden or quiet, vine-covered courtyard. Rooms with either twin beds and bath and shower or 1 king-size bed and luxury shower only, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Whimsy Rooms are the hotel’s signature accommodation. Rooms are very spacious and decorated with a mix of modern and old-world charm, located either in the historic section of the hotel or renovated new block, with ensuite shower or bathroom with separate shower and bath. Sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Plenty Rooms are more spacious and are located either in the historic section of the hotel or renovated new block, with views of the central gardens or courtyard with either 1 king or twin beds, and a full bathroom with separate shower and bath. Sleeping maximum 2 adults.

We've stayed at this hotel several times and once again, a great experience. The location can't be beat and the staff are very helpful and attentive. Great hotel. Breakfast was outstanding. We had an issues with a transportation provider and the hotel was so helpful in getting us on our way.

Stayed one night at this lovely hotel in the centre of Stellenbosch, convenient for restaurants and the small botanical gardens. Our modern ‘Plenty’ room, overlooking the inner courtyard, was well presented with good sound insulation. We had a decent lunch from the all-day bar menu but ate out in the evening.

The only problem we had was finding the hotel as there seemed to be a shortage of road name plaques!!! Not the hotels fault. Read less

This hotel is superb in every respect .... Beautiful rooms.... Attentive, friendly and helpful staff ....Customer service at its very best... We waited so long and patiently for our visit and we where certainly not disappointed !!! Looking forward to returning in 2026 .....
