The environment is first class - under the trees with great views to the mountains. The service was also good as was the food. BUT the price of wine, as with so many restaurants nowadays, is over the top. Their entry point woine is R245. Buiten Blanc, which we buy at our local supermarket for R89, is, at The Lounge Restaurant, R295! With wine… Read more

Over the years I have had the pleasure of staying in many hotels here (South Africa) and further afield, and I count my stay at the Vineyard Hotel as one of the more exceptional experiences. Set in a quite neighbourhood, very central to all amenities and shops in the southern suburbs of Cape Town this hotel is definitely a place to stay if you want to treat yourself to world class hospitality. Apart from the first-rate, generous accommodation, the beautiful bedding and tasteful room decoration, the highlight of our stay was the attentive and friendly staff. Everyone that comes into the hotel is made to feel special. The superb service is ubiquitous, from the room service to the public spaces and dining rooms, nothing seems like too much trouble. A worthwhile stay, Thanks to all involved. I hope to visit again. Read less

If you’re visiting Cape Town then look no further than here. Staying that little bit further out means incredible alfresco dining at breakfast, SPA, superb restaurant (Morii) - as part of your gourmet tour, generous sized beds/rooms and fabulous food and staff. Ubers are also dirt cheap in cape town (less than £5 anywhere) so the beauty of the Vineyard and Newlands gives so much more freedom and luxury, especially when wandering round the city centre beyond the Waterfront at night is perhaps a little unwise. Can’t praise the place highly enough - excellent all round!!! Read less
