The hotel

You will instantly feel relaxed when you stay at the Bay Hotel. The hotel is chilled out and contemporary but manages to combine luxury with a relaxed, informal atmosphere, a perfect beachfront retreat. Occupying the coolest location in Cape Town, in the very heart of the trendy suburb of Camps Bay, you can sip on a sundowner whilst overlooking the white sandy beach. We recently stayed at the Bay Hotel with friends and can honestly say that it was the best hotel we've ever stayed in! From the start of our holiday to the end we can't praise the staff here enough! The reception staff were super helpful and even arranged trips and taxis for us right from the door! They always greeted us back from our days out with a friendly smile! The house keeping staff kept our room immaculate and would always ask us if we needed anything. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast staff were so attentive and served us everything we asked for, they always seemed so happy and kind! The security guards were always polite and welcoming and kept us safe during our stay. We also recommend going to Camilles bar where Tannashi always made us feel welcome and made us some lovely cocktails, nothing was too much trouble for him. He also offered us advise on places to go and places to eat, which didn't disappoint! The location of the hotel is second to none with fabulous views and sunsets to remember always! All staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Melissa is the breakfast restaurant was an absolute angel, she knew from day two what drinks we wanted and was so helpful. Tanashi in the bar upstairs sharing his local knowledge was a star. Thank you to all staff from the waiters to cleaners and gate men you made our holiday x

This classic in camps bay is in dire need of some updates. Rooms are dated and bedding is awful but staff are polite and responsive. Would love to see it return to the quality it has had in the past
