Its stately setting on Capitol Hill is just the start of the ‘grandeur’ you can expect at Phoenix Park Hotel. A historic property that’s been treated to an $8 million makeover, this has all the sharp styling you’d expect from a hotel right at the heart of this modern metropolis, just a block from Union Station and a stroll from the top sights and shopping. The splendour starts the minute you step inside, with its elegant lobby dressed in mossy greens, uplifting blues, and the sparkle of its shimmering floor, chandeliers, and gold-daubed sweeping staircase. The dining here is more rousing than refined though – with its snug Irish pub, The Dubliner, outfitted with bottle-green walls and emerald leather bar stools, and bringing you all the classics, including fish and chips, Irish Beef Stew, Guinness, and even the odd Irish ‘jig’.

Really lovely hotel, really friendly and helpful staff and we loved The Dubliner that’s part of the hotel too! Room was really nice and the free coffee was fantastic! The hotel was ideally located near the train/metro station too. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing time during our days in that beautiful and classic style hotel. Great ambiance, beautiful rooms and friendly people at Phoenix Park. Location is perfect and only few blocks from Capitol and other important areas in DC.

Small, efficient business hotel. Comfortable bed. Room was on the smaller side, but completely adequate. Very clean. Lovely view from the top floor. Friendly staff. Fitness room in basement with elliptical, treadmill and free weights. Windows and walls were thin/noisy, no coffee maker in room. There is a coffee machine available 24-7 in the… Read more

Fitness room in basement with elliptical, treadmill and free weights. Windows and walls were thin/noisy, no coffee maker in room. There is a coffee machine available 24-7 in the lounge. Two bottles of water in the room each day. There is a restaurant / bar attached, although I didn’t eat there. <5 min walk to Union Station, very convenient for train travel. There are more fun/hip neighborhoods however. Read less

This is such a great hotel. I feel like many don't know about it. I've stayed there twice and both times in the Congressional Suite. Check In is easy, staff is super friendly and the rooms are spotless clean. Beds are comfortable. I have nothing to critique other than I wish there was a sister location in other areas of DC that I tend to travel to… Read more

Seemed to have been recently refurbished and very clean. Restaurant/bar on site was nice for a drink (didn’t eat there). Super coffee/tea area on the 2nd floor with complimentary drinks all day. Excellent price and we preferred this hotel to the George which is just around the corner. Food wise - we had breakfast at the corner bakery near the hotel which was good value. We also had breakfast at Alice’s cafe, a couple of blocks away, also good and more variety than the corner bakery. Superb pizza at Wise guys, also a few blocks away and dinner at Founding Farmers a little further away was enjoyable as well. Metro from the airport straightforward but allow an hour including a change from silver to red line. Read less
