Like a beautiful, glass puzzle box, this newcomer to Seattle’s luxury boutique hotel scene stands just a block away from Pike Place Market and the waterfront. As such it commands disarming views of Puget Sound through to the distant Olympic Mountains from The Nest – the Thompson Seattle’s urbane rooftop bar and outdoor living room – and many of its rooms and suites – through pulse-quickening, floor-to-ceiling windows. Decorated with elegant materials given quirky contemporary life through an understated colour palette, the look and feel is very much 'comfortable luxury residence'; something that’s only enhanced by a 24-hour fitness centre, complimentary WiFi, and California Kitchen, a restaurant that turns the finest locally sourced ingredients into dishes that become lifelong memories.

Comfortable, well appointed room. Hotel was in a great location easy walking distance to the market and waterfront. Parking was a pain, but that is to be expected in this area. Valet attendance were very helpful and friendly. Too bad there is no coffee in the rooms, but at least there’s a café downstairs.
Not worth the price you pay

Rooms are very small; you can hear the doors slam at all hours of the night and day. Did not care for the smell of the lobby, told one price and charged a higher price. Valet only parking, which is not listed on the website. The only good thing about it is the location!
Downgrade this place to a Hyatt Garden Inn.

This place soils The Thompson brand. I would never come back to this hotel. For the price, there are substantially better option in Seattle. The rooms are small, cramped and uncomfortable. I was "upgraded" to a city view, and I look directly at the side of a building. There is a constant running water sound that is VERY audible through the walls. When I called the front desk to alert them of this, they said that "it's a feature of the hotel and heard in most rooms." I know Seattle and water are synonmous but to tell me that hearing someone shower is a feature of the hotel is absurd and a lazy lie. When I asked to change rooms, they said the hotel was fully committed. I sat in the lobby for over an hour and saw NO ONE. Is the hotel fully committed with ghosts? No that can't be as ghosts don't shower this frequently. I write this review only 4 hours into my stay. I will post part 2 after what I hope is a less aquatic nights sleep. Read less

Great hotel excellent customer service. We really enjoyed being close to all that downtown Seattle has to offer. You can walk to the piers, Seattle aquarium, the ferry. Nightlife is close also. We would recommend to anyone wanting a fantastic place to stay in Seattle.
