We enjoyed this Hyatt. It was beautifully decorated. We loved having room service to the room with a view of the city from our room. The beds were somewhat comfortable. There were some updates needed--the shower had a crack in the tile. The elevator was extra slow and almost impossible to use. The main things going for this hotel are its view and… Read more

A Hyatt On The Outside, A Holiday Inn On The Inside

The towels were dirty upon arrival. I called twice to get new ones, which did not arrive until the room was cleaned the next day and they still left the towel on the rack with wheel marks on it. The bathroom was smaller than my first apartment's bathroom. Felt like an airline bathroom it is so tiny. The bathroom door has such horrible water damage on it I took a picture -- looked like it was eaten alive. Walls are so paper thin you can hear people flush their toilets, sneeze, and I even had the joy of hearing someone's iPhone alarm going off. I have wonderful experiences with Hyatt hotels. This one needs a LOT of updating. I will say the staff was very nice. Everyone I encountered. They definitely need to work on the fresh towel delivery requests. Read less

Absolutely terrible, tired, no facilities and very expensive. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The one star I've given is for the location. New York is very expensive location and not good value. Yellow cab drivers use their cell phones for directions and get that wrong.
please do not come to visit this hotel

very bad place to visit, hotel not clean, you can find hair everywhere in the room. the toilet is not cleaned and the towel is smelly. The hotel has high destination fee and worth nothing, unprofessional stuffs talk very loud in the morning in hallway. do not select this hotel.
Not quite the Hyatt Standard

Subpar experience for what it was hyped up to be. I expected Hyatt Grand central to be up to a better standard than what I experienced. The hotel is heavily outdated and needs some major face lifts. The room decor is old and feels like I am stepping into the early 2000's. Cramped small bathroom that wasn't very clean and had broken appliances such as the drain. AC/Heat didn't work too well and we had to open the window in January to cool off at night. Stains on the comforter. Overall not what I had hoped for with Hyatt and I am a huge Hyatt advocate. Probably wouldn't pick there again. I'd recommend the Grayson which is a better Hyatt property. Read less
